While every holiday season seems to drain my wallet, looking at the VAST amount of great games coming out this holiday season, it looks like I won't be eating for a while. The games I'm definitely buying are Bioshock 2, COD:MW2, and Assassin's Creed 2. All being released in November (no release date for AC2 yet, but it will most likely be in November). Along with these, I am almost certain that I'm missing some games that I will no doubt buy. Can't wait to give my relatives used socks for Christmas...

Okay... And your point?

I never really saw the point of buying new games. I'm likely not going to enjoy it any less because it came out a few months earlier.

I have your answer: GameFly! It's cheap, and it's easy. Me and my friends have been using it for over a year now. If you like a game enough to buy it, Gamefly will sell it to you for a significant discount. We have stopped going to EB and Gamestop because there is no point. Best of all, if you don't like the game or it turns out to be crap, you just send it back. No more buying crappy games and regretting it.

Don't worry, he can't hear you laugh behind your computer screen, so, go for it! *Laughs maniacally at other people's misfortunes."

Hey, man, leave my ass out of this!

But seriously, GameFly's probably the best example you're gonna get. The days of the demo are all but gone, and rentals are just too damn expensive, especially if you're a PS3 onwer like myself:

Me: Fuck! I actually like this game!
Friend: Isn't that a good thing?
Me: No, I already payed $15 to play it for only two days and now that I want to buy it, I'll have to shell out an additional $60! That's $75 for just one game!
Friend: True, but you could always wait until the price drops.
Me: Yeah, and not know how the story ends until several months later? I doubt it's possible to dodge spoilers that long.
Friend: True. Wanna get a beer?
Me: Sure

And thus, tonight's story comes to an end. Will our hero's find a reasonable and cheap method of playing their precious video games? Find out next week...

right, TOPIC TAKE OVER TIME!!!

Do you think that mobile gaming has a future, what with the iPhone now being seen as a serious competitor to the PSP + DS?
Oh dear--

the nintendo-phone anyone? Perhaps the DS-Phone?
