You get one sentence to describe something good about a filmmaker and one sentence to describe something bad. My example:
James Cameron: The good
The action scenes in his movies are consistently some of the best produced by Hollywood.
The bad
If your ears are bleeding for seemingly no reason it is probably because somewhere James Cameron is trying to do dialogue in modern slang.

Neil Marshall:

Good: He knows how to make his movies fun, which is something that a lot of directors don't get nowadays.
Bad: He doesn't seem to get that things get less scary the more you see them, and therefore isn't all that great at doing true horror.

Quentin Tarantino

Good news: He has a good talent/imagination for intense sequences.

Bad news: His dialogue is best reserved for a blog, not a movie.

I actually like a lot of Tarantino's dialogue. I watched a few episodes of Dark Angel recently and Jesus Christ is the slang awful.

Steven Spielberg
The good: He's an excellent writer and director and has made some of my favorite films ever.
The bad: Some of his films can be horribly overrated and overall not very good.

And I agree (to an extent). I'm not saying I don't like it or that it's bad. I'm just saying that his dialogue placement (and length) in his movies are kinda what ruins my mood in that film.

George Lucas
Incredibly smug, blunt, honest person who is filled with brilliant imagination, but can't be given too much control or too powerful a toolkit.

Sergio Leone:
Bad: Better make sure that you go to the bathroom first because this is going to take a while.
Good: You're not going to want to leave once the film starts.

Took the words right out of my mouth. Jurassic Park was the first film that inspired me to go into the industry.

"Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium was a delightful and fun film from start to finish."

The Bad:

"Make something else, plox?"
