The single brave man is unarmed but is a master in one specific fighting style that you can think of. The 10 cowards are just as strong as the single brave man but wield melee weapons(whatever melee weapons that you can think of) The arena would just be a wide, spacious dark alley filled with dumpsters and garbage cans.

So who would win in a fight to the death in this scenario?
Look up diffusion of responsibility.

If he is a MASTER at a particular fighting style, He'd probably be able to beat ten of his PUPILS attacking him. Just as long as he doesn't underestimate a cowards tendency to go for the balls, he'll win.

That's kinda random, but Anderson Silva would kick the shit out of any 10 cowards.

So you are saying that even though they are individually cowards, they will assume a group identity of strength, and each believing "I won't be the first to go down?", giving them the ability to win?

I would say the 1 brave one because he wouldn't stop fighting and when he kills one or two of the cowards, they would break and run. Plus cowards are also afraid to get hurt so once the 1 brave hits one of them they'd become less sure of themselves

Absolutely. There's no strength in numbers, just people that are less scared.

My guess is cowards, the numbers would be enough of a reassurance to allow them to fight.
If the lone guy dropped even one of the cowards they may run away though, provided the lone guy made the beating as painful as he could.

So, you're asking the escapist if you, an average built guy who considers himself brave could unarmed take on 10 average built pussies who are armed with melee weapons, using only your fists and a two month course of karate?

Nope.

Strenght in numbers.
The cowards would be confident in their numbers and therefore would not flee and would easily beat the one person.
This is just an assumption. Considering that people sometimes get violated on the street with nobody interfering (watching at best, but usually looking away) makes me question this.
It is implied the cowards are a group, because otherwise the they are just ten people standing in a room where a "brave" guy suddenly shows up and starts kicking their asses.

There is something to be said about experience fighting, and I am not just talking about training. An person that is experienced, tough, and in good physical shape can take on multiple opponents, but ten just goes beyond belief. There would be way to many openings for the person to give any kind of adequate coverage, and the many would simply be pumled under the group who would stick together simply because they are a group. You don't leave your friends hanging, especially when there odds look so heavily in your favor, I don't care how much of a coward you are. Weapons or no, unless that man can outrun every single on of the ten cowards he loses.
