Actively comparing a new game you've bought to something you think it should be like will set you up for disappointment. Do your best to enjoy it as it is without any preconceptions!

First gamer rule.

In every Pokemon game there are different designs but each game follows the same idea.

There are simple designs.

There are complicated designs.

There are designs based of animals and legendary creatures.

There are designs based of objects.

You aren't expected to like all of them, but if there is one thing that all gamers must know, it's this.

There are 649 Pokemon, deal with it.

Also it's not about what a Pokemon looks like, but what it can do in battle. (My own personal gamer rule.)

Now for my second gamer rule.

I am fully aware that people are going to disagree with me and that's just fine.

Also.

This is very true, especially horror games, like Resident Evil. You never know when you might fuck up and end up in a place of no return.

I have a couple here :

1. Don't pirate games if you respect their makers and want them to continue their good work.
2. Refraining from using "cheap" tactics or items (ie. Noobtube) in multiplayer games is a self imposed challenge, not a universal rule.
3. Don't be a bully. There's real people on the other side of the screen. People you can harm with your words as much as if you punched them in the face.
4. Before buying a really expensive game (depending on wealth, obviously), make sure you know what you're buying. Trust me, I hated myself for buying FFXIII full price without reading any review or comments just because I wanted the NEW FINAL FANTASY ON THE PS3 OMG THIS LOOKS SO GOOD!! Now it resides on the shelf like a fancy $60 dust particle collector.

Cheers!
