Uhm, why isn't the BFG 9000 mentioned first?

It have those acronyms for a reason.
That is the first thing I thought of when I saw the thread title. I am amazed that it took 14 posts to say it. Sure it would be cool to kill things with a sword, but you can die really easily that way. Besides, there is nothing more badass than shooting your weapon once and obliterating everything around you and just saying "next".

Well obviously a BFG if it has unlimted ammo.
Even if it had limited ammo that is what you would want to choose.

AA12 automatic shotgun with the 32 round drum of minigrenades, which automatically refills with infinite ammo according to the OP.

10,000 monsters? Psh, no problem, I have a recoiless shotgun that fires grenades.
Why not use this instead?

That sheep gun thing from Ratchet and Clank! Now all the monsters are fluffy sheep!

Ok, you just woke up in a horrible dimension full of horrible monsters, and they want you dead. If you wanna escape, you gotta go to a magical locker that gives you one weapon from your world. The weapon won't break, and it must be held in your hands, so it can't be a nuke or a plane or tank. If it is a gun, then it has a unlimited amount of ammo.
I see someone has never played Fallout 3, then ^-^

Alternatively, one of the morphing weapons from the Ratchet & Clank games... purely for the entertainment value of watching big, ugly monsters waddle around as ducklings and sheep and whatnot. But only after 99% of them big uglies are dead - unless said cute, cuddly animals explode into massive mushroom clouds of awesomeness ^-^

I want Tesla's teleforce particle beam projector. Since it never runs out of ammo, I won't need a giant power plant.

That's probably cheating though. I guess I'll go with a Saiga-12 combat shotgun. It's quick, reliable and useful at close range.

Nobody's gone the Flamethrower route yet? Surprising.
Takes too damn long to burn enemies to death, unless flaming bullets count o:

Still, might be good for a chuckle, watching them run around burning, screaming, setting others on fire... until one of them sneaks up behind you at least ^-^;"

A P90.

I'd say my usual favourite gun, the Colt Single Action army, but having to reload every six kills would be annoying. If unlimited ammo means that I don't have to reload though, then I'd go with that.

Alternatively, a Roman spatha:

You said from my world, so a rocket launchers that shoots flaming chainsaws with lightsaber like blades that explode. And at the back of the chainsaw there are tiny gnomes with giant swords that shoot smaller swords. Beat that!
