Now, this is in Off-Topic because it doesn't relate to a videogame, but if the mods feel it should be in Gaming Discussion instead then they are free to move it as they wish.

I've never played D&D before, and I don't really have the time to play normally. I don't know anyone who does, and if there are any societies at my university that do play, I don't have time to meet, what with commitments to another society (more so next year since I'm now on that group's committee), and coursework and whatnot.

So what I'm wondering is, is there anywhere online where I can play (for free) anything like D&D? I really want to start playing the game but without the time to do it regularly or anyone to meet with I'm kind of stuck. Any help would be appreciated :D

Random coincidence, we are looking for players to make groups online here at the Escapist!

We play DND online here. We are gathering members to form groups. I'm not redundant.

Part of the experience of D&D is going to a cramped flat once a week and sitting round a massive table that you can only just fit the drinks around, then playing a campaign with friends with breaks to go to the toilet and arguments over what the DM is rolling dice for every few minutes. It wouldn't be the same online.

Last I know D&Dorks does forum D&D. I haven't played it there, mainly because I don't care to, but you might as well check it out if you're interested.
