No offense to Yahoo but I think they've proved themselves pretty off when it comes to video games a long time before this. Not that the writer tried to avoid that by writing with ridiculous bias a 6th grader could point out. I could hardly tell what he was saying but explain to me how this is different/superior (probably not) from steam...

Oh and "and without the need for an expensive console or a high-powered personal computer." followed by "Instead, this ?cloud? service will deliver top games direct to your PC or TV screen instantly, using a small receiver unit that hooks up to your existing broadband connection"

I'm just curious what hardware do they expect you to use so as to run these games?

yeah this is an epic fail mostly...firts off.."expensive console"....lulwut?!?!? are you serious? cheapest thing out there!

secondly thats a monthly fucking charge...which everyone fucking hates as it is, so why would we pay a monthly charge for a shitty service and then have to pay for games THROUGH that system on top of it...

ping is something they cant fix. only way to fix it to change all world's cables and network protocols and upgrade all middle routers.
no gonna happen man, not gonna happen.

I was mildly interested until I read that you have to pay the subscription fee PLUS renting or buying the games. If it was just a flat fee, sorta like gametap, I'd check into it.

Otherwise, no thanks.

I highly doubt it'll work.

Millions of gamers will want to use servers that are hosted by this "OnLive" company. Terrible lag will ensue.

Looking at the artwork it is clear this is a company looking at gathering funds and publicity, they probably have nothing ready. It will go bankrupt soon enough. Also, you can't play fps games with their system, it will be something with the capabilities of a browser game, as in not console material.

Never the best idea to stream everything, not everyone has a great connection, especially us here in Britain where we seem to get screwed over online time after time. I don't like the idea and wont' be going for it, I'd much rather buy the damn game and have a physical representation of it in the form of a disc

Hm. I'm curious as to how similiar it will be to Steam.

Wait. A subscription fee? Fuck that.

Apparently it can work on a 4Mbps connection. I reeaally doubt this though. There is so much data to be transferred. Firstly, your input. Any movement of the anologue sticks or a button press has to be transferred to a server, then it send back the reaction in the game. That's a massive amount of data to be sent instantaniously...
