Says the communist? Suddenly millionaires are cool so long as it's sex work, eh?
Sex work is work; sex workers are workers. Like with athletics, there is potential for elements of labor aristocracy to develop or perpetuate (more than they already have due to regular old imperialism), but that's hardly the fault of the worker getting their 80% from Onlyfans transactions.

Some of the supposed commies or is it socialists or whatever else etc to stop a moment and go "Hey so maybe the monitisation and commercialisation of sex is going a bit far now".

And I say this as some-one that loves media with sex and violence in it.
So... what?

You like it when a big company makes bank with sex and violence in a movie or video game, but not when individual workers make money from voluntary transactions? Do you consider it better when the person who is selling the sex or the product which displays sex isn't the person who is having that sex?

Yeah, it's apparently how nonces are paying for their nonce stuff, so that's not great.
Luckily the tokens I have aren't used like that because they're linked to a social media site and used mostly to boost / promote content people want on there.
Think how Twitter has promoted tweets but if twitter also paid you currency you could use to buy those promoted spots.

Well some Strip clubs are seeing a drop in staff numbers because Onlyfans is easier and offers a bigger audience.

Like the athletics of Pole dancing and co-ordination of say Burlesque I can very much say are more skills on display with sexual content added in.

Oh easy way to put it. Sex and Violence is the icing on the cake. It's not the cake itself.

Or to better explain it.

Uwe Boll films like Bloodrayne have sex and violence in them but I'm not going to rush out to watch them or whatever other super trashy stuff somehow got pumped out onto certain streaming services like Killer Zombie Clowns vs Hookers or something. But I'll happily watch The Boys, Carnival Row, Black Sails or show like them hell I want more of them

My theory on the claims about it being payment processors:

If it is the payment processors then it's linked to the BBC article I posted.

It would make an incredible amount of sense because when illegal stuff goes down then payment processors have to work with the government to hand over data. Thus you need people handling that and working with the government and law enforcement. More illegal stuff going down = more staff needed to handle information requests or more systems needing to be built and maintained to deal with it. That costs more so they're pressuring the end point for the transactions to clean their stuff up because of the potential cost to payment providers.

So long as it’s work. I hate capitalists, not workers.

I’ll skip the meaningless post for this one. Here’s the thing, capitalism has always monetized sex, monetized the human body. What separates the prostitute from the athlete or the factory worker? Nothing. Often one rapidly moves between those categories as necessary to survive. And I’m not pulling some liberal bullshit out of my ass here on this argument, this is straight out of the communist manifesto. Marx was writing about capitalism forcing people into sex work in spite of any “sacred” view of sex, and all other profitable kinds of work with similar relationships to the sacred, before he ever started working on Capital, before he ever had any fame to his name. This is an old idea to leftists, and an old reality to capitalism.

Working class women selling their bodies is nothing new, it’s what makes them working class.

"She said my username on-stream! It's almost like she had sex with me!"
Or, y’know, most streamers seem to actually enjoy themselves and there’s lower odds of it being essentially a filmed rape scene. Also most corporate porn is exactly the fucking same and is comparatively boring as hell with garbage editing that ruins any pacing because they assume you’re skipping around anyway.

Why are you spending $200 on a photo when you can get millions of videos for free?
Well, there's a psychological effect where the more you pay for something, the better you think it is. Paying for a photo can feel special in a way a freebie doesn't.

I suspect also it gives some people a feeling of human connection. A free pornhub vid is various random people strutting or rutting, thus in its way quite... impersonal. But in practice, a lot of people want more than that: some sense of interaction. Perhaps thinking the porn model might fancy them back, or notice them (I think some also do chat rooms), or that they are helping her (/him), to some grubbier stuff about feeling like they have some sense of ownership or power over her by paying. One way or another, interaction requires money, and so people who want that will pay up.

Also you can be confident that people on OnlyFans are getting paid for your interaction, unlike any free porn site.

I don't see the relevance of your aesthetic preferences on the question of commercialization of sex etc. "going too far". There are cakes that are not for you.

The Onlyfans website a site which is basically patreon for naked cosplayers, or naked girls being naked in general for a subscription fee, has announced that they are banning porn from the site.

But not really.
I figured even if they *really* banned porn from the site, they'd just offer special "member ranks" to their fan Discord or Telegram groups instead, and those would coincidentally come with porn.

I never even heard of "Onlyfans" what the fuck kind of site is this?
Think Patreon for thots.

Like when Playboy stopped doing nude photos, and it turned out no, everyone was lying when they said they were reading it just for the articles.
Side note: I own three issues of Playboy in total - the issue before they dropped nudity, the first issue without nudity, and the Hugh Hefner memorial issue. All are still unopened in the original packaging, because I figured those were likely to be issues that became more valuable down the road.

Okay, so riddle me this: if Visa and MasterCard are doing this, how the hell do any of the other porn companies get their money? I mean I know cash is king and all that but who's getting them their payments? Are they going through Deutsche Bank? Someone must be facilitating their legal transactions.
There's porn and then there's porn. There's the stuff that's OK to process payments for, and the stuff that's bad PR. Which is why the PornHub child porn purge purged a lot more than CP - they were demonstrating their willingness to play ball.

What's so complicated about showing putting the thing in the other thing? Is their really that much room for ground-breaking visionaries here?
