Hmm, well, the only real surprise on that list for me is Ghost of Sparta, but mostly due to my own ignorance, didn't know it was out yet >_>

But really, how could you not include this awesome speech from Mass Effect 2?

Because I forgot?

Is it odd that I find all these side-speeches more entertaining than anything in the "core" games, like converstaions with teammates, etc.?

I don't know, I kind of like that a lot of these conversations are equally, if not more entertaining, because I find it aids in immersion for me, that the people in the background are actually engaging. I also enjoy the game store in the Citadel, can't find any videos of it, but those were some gems as well.

I found that, but the audio quality was soft, so I didn't post it. I needed to double my volume to hear it.

The only reason I haven't played Vanquish is...I don't know actually, as I'm a huge fan of extravagant action-packed 'splosion fests.
Then fix that ASAP. You'll adore it.

Downloaded the demo on the PS3, played that a bit. Good gods it's frustratingly hard. I don't know whether the sweet booms are going to lower my blood pressure more than the game will raise it...

Casual and Casual Auto are your friends.

Casual Auto has snap-aim that puts Call of Duty to shame.

It automatically switches targets!

Man. I never see Nier on any top 10 Lists. I thought it was amazing. D:
I can see why you chose your list though, and good choice. Bayonetta is fun as hell.

Okay, now you've gone and done it.

I've played the Vanquish demo. It was actually pretty good unexpectedly decent fun too Japanese.

There you go. Phew.

Okay, now I sound like a total xenophobe, don't I?

Alright well after reading your reviews, I can see where much of your choice came from, excluding God of War and the Sly collection, both of which I have not played. Its an interesting list, I agree with the enjoyment of Fable, Mass Effect [my personal game of the year] and Assassin's Creed. As for Bayonetta, I didn't enjoy my time with it, but I'm not really into a 3rd person [though I don't want to use this term with this game, due to it deviating from it quite a bit] hack and slash games. Vanquish, your review and many others have finally gotten me to actually install it, or rather at least the demo onto my 360 to try it out.

Finally I'll add my own 7 just to compare

7: Fable III
6: Mafia II
5. Halo Reach
4: Metro 2033
3: Assassin's Creed Brotherhood
2: Fallout: New Vegas
1: Mass Effect 2

Finally addressing your statement on Western gaming focusing on exposition and story, I think you mostly will see this in RPGs, rather than most Western games. Western shooters and other such things continue to try to make stories, but with their shorter campaigns I cannot feel anything but gipped that they can even claim to have a story. I'm with you, if I assume correctly, that a good mindless shooter or brawler can be fun as well, we don't need stories in everything.

I do maintain loving them in my RPGs, but at the same time I'm looking forward to both Duke Nukem and Bulletstorm

Good review, would have liked more details rather than videos but none the less got the point across.

Huh. There's one exact match on our lists and one other game that appears on mine as well.

Can you guess what those are?

Wait, there are others who enjoyed Fable 3?

I AM NOT ALONE?! :D

Anyway, not really surprised. Except with Fable 3. I love the Fable games. So much. Glad to see others do as well.

You know what?

I'm this close to buying Fable 3 after you've recommended it that much.

Like, this close. Well, if the coop is any good.

And I do recommend it. But be warned, if your looking for a deep RPG, you will be disappointed.

But if not then you should enjoy it. Provided you like dark-twisted fantasy stories with plenty of humor, dark and otherwise.

Deep RPGs? Ha.

My most cherished RPG memory is KoToR. Not that deep.

So, yeah, I should enjoy the Fable games.

Oh... well then yeah you should be good. Just a warning though, if you research it, avoid anything that involves Peter Moleneux. Trust me on this.
