My family is full of speed demons and road ragers. Last week, I was driving home with my dad after watching Predators when this guy tried to cut me off at a stop sign. I didn't get upset, but my dad practically exploded. He started swearing and instructed me to drive slower to "teach that bastard a lesson".

Many of my friends are terrified of going into the car with my parents because of how fast they drive. I never even noticed though, because well, I'm just so used to it.

For me, I always drive a little past the speed limit and if there's absolutely no soul at a stop sign in a country road street, I don't stop and just keep on drivin'(I'm terrible). :p

How 'bout you?

I drive within all laws, no matter if someone is on the road or not. ^_^

My father is always about 5 over the limit, while my mother is anywhere from 10-50 over most of the time. Worst my mother has done is go 160 KPH in a 110 zone. She was in a mini-van. It was not fun.

I dont think someone like me, who's favourite racing series is Burnout, should ever be givn a license, for all our sakes.

I usually slow down when I see a stop sign, but I'm guilty of "rolling stops" as they're called around here.

I must say that I'm a pretty big fan of the "Slow down to piss people off" approach to passive-agressive driving. I usually go about 5 miles over the speed limit, any faster and I risk a ticket. So, when I'm going this speed and someone starts tailgating me, I will not hesitate to drop my speed, sometimes down to 10 mph below the posted limit, until the person gets the message and backs off.

It's not like that extra 5-10 mph makes a huge difference time wise (at least on short trips), and in a weird way I'm probably doing that guy a favor, since the time spent behind me is time not getting a speeding ticket.

I yell at other drivers, even though I know full well that they can't hear me.

"Oh yeah, you're awesome for driving in the emergency lane. I guess you must be better than all of us having to wait at this red light!"
"Are you insane?! Why would you pull out from a parking lot, go right into the fast lane, and then stop right in front of me when I'm going 50 mph?!?"
"Nice, I guess you can go ahead and speed by me even though I'm going the speed limit... you must be really busy to go 60 in a 45 on a two lane road."

Hmm... I guess that's not very gentlemanly of me.

EDIT: Oh yeah, I actually follow pretty much every rule of the road. Even if no one is there I will stop at a stop sign... The only thing I ever do is go about 5 miles per hour over the speed limit if it's the flow of traffic... once I ran a stop light and I've almost wrecked about three times, but I've never been in a wreck or pulled over.

Living in North Yorkshire in the U.K. is amazing for speeding. We have no speed cameras here plus policing is very sensible and level headed. I quite regulalry drive well over the speed limit but only when out of town and it tends to be later on at night. Even if you like your speed doing it in built up areas is never a good idea. You have to remember the fast fun thing you are in weighs over a ton and can do alot of damage. Guess what i'm suggesting is sensible fun. :D. Also never had a speeding ticket in 9 years driving. Few tellings off but no ticket yet....

Speed everywhere, all the time. And I'm proud of it! Once you get a turbo you don't really have a choice!

I sadly do not drive. I take the bus and many a times it's there's much more entertainment to be had whilst riding them.

The worst part about it is when a song from Burnout revenge comes on the radio whilst driving. I have to restrain myself....

Here in Alberta, everyone goes 10 over the limit on the highway because it's common knowledge that you're allowed to go 10% over the limit. In some parts of the province, everyone goes 20 over the limit, because you're allowed to go 130 in a 120 zone and we think that means you can go 10 over 130.

In the Northwest Territories, there are no speed limits on many of the roads and driving laws are really poorly enforced. That's because there's only 1 car for every 10 kilometres of road in some areas. Many drivers aren't used to driving safely or sanely when they go down south.

My stepfather drove in the NWT for years. The worst fine he ever incurred was in Alberta - he passed another car over the double yellow line, going 140 km/h in a 90 km/h zone, with an oncoming police car on the other side of the road.

Um, seeing as how I used to drive I would say I could easily make money off street racing. The way I drive now, mmmmmmmmmmm old lady status.

I don't drive. It's too expensive and I can't afford it.

Besides, walking is a favorite hobby is mine. The outdoors rocks, and it helps me stay in(decent) shape.

I find that traveling with the speed of traffic is usually good. Unless I know about a speed-trap area. Then I'm making damn sure that I stay within the speed limit margins of error.

I live in a country of road-ragers, insane drivers and idiot pedestrians. Strangely enough, I do follow the laws, even though they aren't enforced. Partly because of my Lawful Neutral-ness, and partly because I'd rather set a good example than go with it, no matter how futile it might be.

My parents always take time out of there day while driving to yell at whoever did something wrong, even if its a common mistake like forgetting to use turn signals.

My dad did that on a winding country road. The speed limit was I think 70, though. It was awesome.

My dad can be a terrifying driver since he does very last minute stops, my mother is a road rager, and my stepdad is alright.

We did it in the city. That was one of the scariest times of my life. O_O
