I'm not sure what you mean, because if they're classics, they must've stood the test of time. But Nosferatu, Repulsion and The Omen come to mind. The Exorcist relied on imagery that was shocking at the time, so it didn't frighten me as much as, say, The Exorcism of Emily Rose.
