If you didn't know, there's been some recent fan outcry at two publishers/developers for 2 games: Majora's Mask for the 3ds and Megaman Legends 3.

The latter of which was canceled by capcom "due to lack of fan support" They latter said that if there was enough fan interest, they would consider uncanceled it.

Not long after, eiji aonuma stated that MM for the 3ds would be a possiblity if the fans asked for it.

Now, as we all know, we gamers are not the type to be placated easily, we like action. Act we did.

Operation Moonfall & Get Me Off the Moon are two fan projects to get MM and MML3 released, respectively.

Haha...Moonfall is a good name for this.
I'm neither for nor against these re-releases. I already every Zelda game (except for the DS ones, because I hated Phantom Hourglass and didn't give Spirit Tracks a chance), so I've no need to buy them again. But it's good that they stay fresh for new people.

Well, it wouldn't hurt to have them be mad, just don't buy it ;)

Anyways, a MM remake has been a childhood dream of mine, so I am really hopeing for that.

Moonfall? I presume this is in relation to the project to bring Xenoblade, Last story, and something something Pandora to NA?

Honestly that at least has merit to justify a campaign for as they are less on Nintendos radar and may never get released in the market.

But creating a campaign to bring a megaman and zelda game with the way Nintendo loves nothing more than reselling you the same things youve already bought before seems like a whole lot of impatience, because... it stands a pretty good chance of happening eventually.

Also, to be clear, I did not start these.

They started out in various places, but right now it's strongest on 4chan's /v/ board.

I showed my support for both projects. I really, really would like to see both games come to fruition.

I love hearing stories about gamers getting an idea in their head and charging for it. :3

Mega Man Legends 3 isn't a remake or rehash. It's a completely new game in one of the best action RPG series to have hit the Sony Playstation. It certainly isn't your average Mega Man game, since back in the day Mega Man fans actually thought it was too different, and it had more heart than most games even today have. [http://www.1up.com/do/blogEntry?bId=9084490]

It also would have been/was a system-seller for a very large number of people. The ones who adopted a 3DS early specifically because of it aren't getting their system-seller anymore.

The worst part of the deal was the way Capcom handled it. From day one, fans were involved in contributing content for the game themselves, like the old Robot Master contests, but with much more variety, and we'd been told that the game's fate would rest on a downloadable prologue to get everyone up to date with the story. The prologue was already in reviewers' hands, but Capcom decided not to even give that a chance because they thought it was too much of a risk, completely ripping off all of the fans who put effort into contributing to the game's creation and breaking their word, and then going back and blaming the fans for not helping enough [http://mynintendonews.com/2011/07/21/nintendo-3ds-capcom-blame-fans-for-mega-man-legends-3-cancelation/].

Instead of releasing a unique, quirky adventure platformer with RPG elements, Capcom is focusing all of its energy into rehashing Street Fighter IV and Marvel vs. Capcom 3, which have both already been released at least once. GetMeOffTheMoon [www.facebook.com/getmeoffthemoon] and Legends3.com are dedicated to showing them that canning this game was a GRAVE error of judgment on their part.

I find it awesome when fans all over the world work together to work on a project.
Hell, even fans of different games are working together for this.

Edit: Oh by the way. Have two nice youtube videos explaining the story why we want MML3 so bad even more than before.
1. Short and sweet: http://youtu.be/o-sG2aM-x2o
2. Longer vid with ranting in a combo with Megaman Universe: http://youtu.be/nqwYDdTl-tc

We all need to stick together if we want to keep variety in the gaming market. You really can't stay niche for long if you raise awareness, especially if the games you like are genuinely good. Both Mega Man Legends and Majora's Mask had a really memorable supporting cast and a lot of great things going for them that were overlooked the first time around. Beating these games also made you feel really good about helping people, too, which is extremely rare in the gaming world today.

Yeah. That's certainly saying something about the impact these games have made on us. XD
Yep.

I think the goal for the megman thing is to get to the top group room in 19 days from now or something.

The one on Kotaku? It says nothing new. That quote from Greg is a direct copy-paste, and the PR chap they actually got a hold of couldn't be farther from Tsujimoto-squared and friends over in Japan. I'd never even heard of him until just now, and I've been following the Devroom since its inception.

Oh, and by the way, check out today's Extra Credits. [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/extra-credits/3818-Art-Is-Not-the-Opposite-of-Fun] :) Good stuff.
