Opinion on PS Vita. Worth getting for $195?

And that's $195 for both the system and a 16GB memory card. I have PS+, so I also have a couple free games right at the start, and my PS1 classics.

The problem is, I got the money for graduating, and is all I have for now until I find a job nearby. I've always wanted a Vita, but the system at gamestop is still over $200 at gamestop, and the memory card anywhere from $40-100 depending on memory size. But I know someone selling a Vita in great condition for considerably lower price, and I'm getting the memory card from Amazon.

So my question again is, does it seem worth getting a Vita now? I mean, I COULD wait until Christmas or something, but I'm an impatient person. Are there a decent amount of planned Vita games for this holiday season that will make the 6 month wait worth it?

Vita owners! Assemble! I have no idea. I've got a 3DS. I'm sure some other good folks will step-up to tell you the pros and cons of the device. From my viewpoint it doesn't have that many more titles that I can't already play on my PSP. But the physical controls look sweet.

From everything that I've heard about the Vita, Persona 4 alone makes it worth the price of admission. I went with a 3DS during my "which should I buy" phase and I wish I had gone with Vita more and more...

HOWEVER, with that said...

If this is all the money you have until you have a job, I would strongly recommend that you wait no matter how awesome the Vita looks. I don't know your situation or what you're looking for job-wise but right now is not the time to assume that getting a job is going to be easy...

Well, I still live with my parents for at least a year or two, so the money I got is essentially leisure money. I got $200 for graduation, which isn't exactly enough for a car or anything. Plus, I get about $20 a week for doing house work and helping out while my mom is at work.

This is all I read: buy it now you fool! My store recently had a PSV on sale for...I think $249 where they would give you a $50 gift card and that was just the system (granted the games were buy-1-get-1 and the memory sticks were also on sale). That price seems really, really good; especially if you're getting a memory card to go with the thing. Jump on that deal!

Wow I wish I can get a Vita that cheap. My stores still have them for AU$300.

I think Vita games are picking up, they say if you have 5 games in mind, then the system is worth buying. Soul Sacrifice looks neat, plus AC Liberation, Gravity rush and the upcoming Tearaway, Dragon's crown...

Don't buy it yet. Wait til after E3 for any price drop announcements.
I was thinking something very similar, but even still, would a price drop really be so significant to compete with a $195 price point that includes EVERYTHING? I mean, a PS Vita, even a refurbished one at Gamestop is still $210 without a memory card. I mean, unless they drop it to $150, I don't know if waiting is worth it, especially since the friend I can by it from may sell it to someone else if I wait too long.

Personally, I feel like there's already plenty of games on it to justify a purchase. But it depends on what types of games you enjoy.

Gravity Rush (action-adventure with light RPG elements), Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward (puzzle visual novel), Persona 4 Golden (and Persona 3 Portable if you don't have it on the PSP already) (JRPG with visual novel and life sim elements), Playstation All-Stars (party brawler), BlazBlue: Continuum Shift EXTEND (visual novel fighting game), LittleBigPlanet Vita (platformer), Ragnarok Odyssey (Monster Hunter-esque action-RPG), Wipeout 2048 (futuristic racing game), Disgaea 3 (and the first two from their PSP versions) (strategy RPGs), and Rayman Origins with Legends coming up (platformers), and hopefully Muramasa Rebirth (2D action-RPG), Soul Sacrifice (another Monster Hunter-esque action-RPG, with a supposedly much more unique combat system), and Dragon's Crown all make it well worth it in my opinion, plus all of the other PS1/PSP games you can download. Oh, and Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3 HD if you don't already have them on the PS3 or something.

Unfortunately the US/European releases in the future seem to be a bit scarce, which is frustrating to say the least. But if you're a fan of Japanese games, it's been a pretty solid system so far.

I say go for it. I don't think I'll ever find a deal that good... especially with 16gb card.

They have Zero Escape coming to North American PS+ which I'm really elated about.

Killzone Mercenary is out september too and that looks pretty good.

Been contemplating one myself and the big off-put is the friggin £80 memory cards.

The system is only £160 what the hell gives with the memory card pricing?

See, I'm kinda in the same boat. I'd love a Vita, especially now that I'm hooked on all things Persona, but dat price tag...

Granted, I have enough points on my GameStop card (please forgive this transgression upon the universe) to make it so that I have $50 off on any purchase, so it's REEEEEEEEALLY kinda a difficult situation I find myself in.

As for the opinion...it is your choice, ultimately. However, if you believe the deal to be sweet enough for your tastes, I say go for it.

Do it!

But wait with the memory card till tuesday. Hoping they'll announce a price drop. I bought a Vita a month ago and have been playing my collection of free plus games and really enjoying my Vita so far. My only nitpick are the analog sticks (They're a bit smallish)

Aside from that it's a great device with some awesome games
