Im not to far into it yet, maybe 3 or hours in, but so far its been okay. The mission are very linear and the side quests have been very dull so far. The characters have been fun and writting sharp, but the dialogue trees are again very linear, you simply go through each options until the box closes. The setting looks good but it never does anything interesting with it at least so far, no race issue, no political issue, no talk about trans-humanism, no magic vs science stuff, it just looks good, which is fine but i wanted more out of it.
theres never really been any issues in shadowrun between magic and science, that side was settled generally decades before the setting. racism does occur with the humanis policlub which are pro human extremists.

transhumanism.. thats covered in there

political? well the whole of berlin is a political experiment in anarchy, and corporations are generally more powerful than governments

*edit* made the mistake of generalising my character a bit too much and backed myself into a corner

*edit 2* they still havent fixed cyberwear in the expansion a few new things and a few pieces of bioware but still very limited and still using the same silly slot system
What i commented is more the stuff i wanted or expected out of the game, knowing little about the setting. i havent seen any stuff about trans-humanism (aside from having machine parts, which isnt really what i mean, just havin it is cool but it not being descused or use in the plots, which is what i mean) or pro human extremist (just talking about the game mind not the RPG setting) but ill keep playing and see if it turns up.

I liked it but I think that, in general, the game believes that there is a correct way to play. I have yet to try the expansion, however.
