Opinions on "Stick of Truth" Game

Recently, I stumbled onto a new RPG turned based combat game called "The Stick of Truth". Usually I tend to avoid these sorts of games because in many cases, if you've played one turn based RPG, you've played them all... and they are usually Japanese. But then I found that this game is based on the show "South Park". Though I do find South Park to be quite funny, I honestly don't think it could blend seamlessly with a good game. What does the Escapist community think about it?

I have largely stopped gaming, but this remains on my to play list. Two things about it that leave me on the fence though. On the plus side it was written and developed directly with Southpark studios so it will probably be subject to Trey Parker's exacting standards regarding the source material. Meaning it will be irreverent and funny and occasionally over the top. On the down side though, I read that the THQ and SP studios were battling a bit over rights and my understanding is Southpark won the battle immediately before THQ folded. The saving grace is that Ubisoft bough the IP. It could have gone to that russian company and Southpark studios would have scrapped the project. The long development delays and unknown drop date as of earlier today are not a good sign.

Bottom line is I remain cautiously optimistic. I want it to be funny and well written and harken back to earlier classic RPG's in gameplay.
