Well, good to see the UK still holds a respectable position on the world stage in your opinions, Escapists!

O.T: Well it rains a lot in the North, but we have nice coast, quite a few bits of most cities look pretty rubbish, but we did create Yahtzee, most of my favourite bands and we invented the gastro pub!

I tend to see most English people as arrogant narcissistic pricks, that still can't get over the fact that they fucked up and lost their world empire. To their chagrin the USA took over where they left off at world hegemony and they're irate about it. Which then in turn leads them (the English) to horde websites across the internet and proclaim how they know all and are right about everything.
Well... You sir are a complete twat.

Tally ho my lover.

No offense mate, but most of us are too drunk to care XD Seriously, you guys could invade us, and as long as you lower the price on alcohol and keep the pubs standing, we'll embrace you with open arms.

We used to have some really good musicians (rock music is a UK invention)
No it isn't and The Beatles suck.
Looks sorta like a troll. Feels sorta like a troll. But I feel I must reply anyway.
Aside from the Beatles being one of the most successful- no, wait, probably the most successful band in the world to date...
Well, The Who, and The Rolling Stones were pretty damn good. David Bowie? He's got a few notches in his belt too.

Now, even though this feels troll-y, and I doubt I shall get a reply, may I enquire as to what sort of music you are a fan of? Out of sheer academic interest?

OP: Live in East Kilbride, Scotland. It's pretty damp, and the young hooligan like teenagers are not much fun, but we have pretty scenery and we've invented some of the best stuff out there.

Well, I'm a Brit, and I wouldn't mind moving away some day. I just don't want to pay this government my money. They are the most evil and poisonous government in the world.

Also, the vast majority of the population would sooner mug you than give you directions. It's disgusting here.
This abomination of a government, I have to agree.
Where do you live to form such a crime-fearing viewpoint? I live in Nottingham, apparently one of the worst cities in the country for crime, and I've never felt even slightly worried about being mugged or any other kind of crime.

The misconception that annoys me most about the UK? This, I know it's family guy, but I am still offended by it as a rugby fan.
Whereas we actually have:
About 43 seconds in is the good view of the collision.
The second one is a bit too arty really, but effectively conveys exactly why family guy is wrong.

I live in Cardiff, Wales. I don't ever feel threatened, but this mugging culture seems to be in the news a lot recently. :/

As Samual Johnson said "when you are bored of London you are bored of Life"
And the suicide rate tripled overnight.

Personally I've never liked London as its a bit of a black hole that sucks all the talent, news and money into itself but other then that its a great place. Got some fantastic history (I love the fact people still live in houses built before the USA existed) and there are great places to vist. The only bad thing is you can't plan for the weather.

Love/Hate for me. I am British, or to be more exact English. I find it funny how English or British I actually am; private schooled rugby playing drinker. The weather is shit. The countryside is great, seriously good in some places. We generally stick to ourselves and family; free health service which I am truly greatfull for, and people are good/bad as in any country. Except the bad like to congregate in particular areas and you get used to knowing where those are so it doesn't really matter to much. And yes many people still hold the "stiff upper lip" part of our society; which personally I find a redeeming quality.
However becoming too much like America over recent years. Also it's seriously hard to find a damn job in the current climate.

Man, I loves me some UK. Sure it isn't perfect--but where is?

It's a tiny place with more history and variety packed into it than anywhere else I can think of. It's got Irn Bru and Branston Pickle in abundant supply, and some of the best television shows ever produced. The rail system can be a great way to get around, when it actually runs on time. And yeah, it rains a lot, but that just keeps everything green.

I'm from newcastle and i'm very proud of that :)
Despite that fact that i'd one day like to leave this country, I couldn't be more happy that I grew up here. I love the people i've met, and apparently we have an odd sense of humour? Most of the girls I know (including myself) are just as crude as the boys.

UK has its downsides but doesn't every country? I just hate it when misinformed idiots believe all of the media stereotypes.
If you want to know how UK sixth form students behave then watch The Inbetweeners, the resemblance between them and my male friends is amazing.
