In this thread we shall talk about OPINIONS that, if posted on the escapist, you would probably get torn apart for. We all have at least one, we can't all be the stereotypical Escapist member.

My one is basically, if I were to post this in any other place other than the pony group I would be ripped apart and gutted for. Basically, I really dislike Adventure Time and love MLP. I just find that the style of animation in Adventure Time seems wrong, like it's too away from reality to seem relatable to me. Whereas MLP has characters I can relate to, and a world that's far away, but not too far away from ours. I also hate the songs in it, I've listened to all the songs in season 1 (I've watched the whole of season 1, since I always watch the first season of a show to get my opinion on it) and really, I just wish Finn would STFU and stop bloody rapping. Marceline has a good voice, and she's good on guitar. But Finn's beatboxing just ruins the songs for me.

Also, please do not start ANY flame wars, because honestly this thread is for posting opinions that would normally start flame wars.

Beyond Good and Evil is a terrible game with absolutely no redeeming qualities. Ok, one redeeming quality: the art style reminded me of Psychonauts. Literally everything else is bad.

It looks to me that that thread is asking about opinions that are unpopular in general, while this one is about ones that are unpopular specifically on the Escapist. So there's some overlap, but they aren't the same thing.

I'm a a social conservative (well, mostly at least), and as such many of my political views are those that most around here seem to disagree with...this is why I've stopped posting my own thoughts in my OPs whenever I dare to create a topic in the Off-Topic section.

Apparently someone (I know who it is) doesn't like the fact that I don't like fat and muscular version of a female characters fanart however I'm pretty sure some people if not most don't like those type of fanarts aswell.

Well, let's see:

-I find both MLP and Adventuretime incredibly obnoxious, and have to consciously prevent myself from automatically discounting the opinions of people who go nuts over it.
-In fiscal and military matters I almost always side with moderate conservative/republican opinions. Social issues like gay marriage are another story. (I get flak from both sides as a result)
-Pro gun ownership, also pro strict requirements for gun licenses (same result as above)

Also I don't play video games a great deal any-more, however I still hang around here because I like the place.

I think that the internet is made for horrible things (all of it, be it racism, offensive material, contrary believes and everything else in that category) and to regulate it would be to remove basic rights to free speech. I'm not endorsing it. But i think people should know what they're getting into.

Of course I find it quite difficult being conservative, because you have all the scum who life the most superficial aspects of your beliefs to justify their behavior.
