Do try to keep this thread off the topic presently covering these forums.

Two things are, apparently, happening: Extra Credits is leaving and The Escapist is hurting for cash. It may be that this is the best time, or it may be the Vicodin I'm presently taking is convincing me to do this, but I believe the space for a new, incredibly cheap show has arisen. First, a bit of backstory.

I'm a university student in my final year (Essentially majoring in game production, 3D modeling, animation, and the studies thereof,) and I am going to DM a D&D campaign every Saturday for the thirty weeks I have left.

I will record the audio of the room, edit it to whatever specifications I am given (X episodes of Y duration,) and animate the results using Adobe's wonderful After Effects and Photoshop software.

I will do this for ten US Dollars ($10) per hour of output. Not ten dollars of work, mind you, that would actually be an incredible sum which The Escapist needn't pay. I mean ten dollars per hour of show I produce. At ten minute episodes (Pretty reasonable, considering each session is around four hours,) that would be six episodes for ten dollars.

Again. Might be the pain meds from oral surgery, but that sounds like a pretty decent deal for Mister Escapist.

If your buddies are like mine when D&D is involved, I might definitely watch that...

Hey.. I got an additional suggestion. If your proposal doesnt work, you could always cut your price in half (or say half an hour of output time) and advertise on www.fiver.com

Always good to have a backup plan

EDIT: Hrm.. I guess due to some either intentional or unintentional coding, external linking isnt working right. Funny how it effects an actual user, but is useless against spambots.

You, sir, are insane.

If the Escapist actually takes you up on this, I will watch your show.

Good luck, you crazy person you! ^^

I can assure you, they may be. I've yet to find a group of players who refuses to enjoy themselves around the table. Sure, there's a group or two who's really into a well-told story, but a few sarcastic quips and Star Wars references still find their way in. That, and I'm not the strictest DM/GM/Storyteller.

But there is this one guy in the party. Real stickler for rules. Real buzzkill.

I've never heard of fiver. It looks promising. Danke danke!

Not to toot my own horn, but if there's anything I can do well, it's crazy.

I've been on Reddit too much, I tried to upvote this.
That was my exact same reaction as well. Haha.

Besides that, this kid has more moxie and gumption in him than a whole model-T full of Yaleies. I'd like to see this proposal go over well for him just for that.

i know the feeling this provides...with any luck, ill be writing articles reviewing MMORPGs, something i know Yahtzee would give both his right arm and his HAT to avoid doing. personally, i think id enjoy it because i dont have to worry about beating the damn game since it would probably require much more than a week to get anywhere near beating ANY MMO, much less an RPG.

I'd watch the crap out of this. I'm a huge D&D nerd and I really enjoyed I Hit It With My Axe. I'd be interested to see if you can make it through all thirty episodes while stoned on vicodin. It'd be like watching House. If House was a wizard...

... hang on, gotta go pitch a show to HBO.

Few things to note

1. The escapist splits ad profits now, in other words your paid based on how popular your show is and no money is given up front.

2. Please get good mics on each person or do recordings after words.

3. Your looking at a lot of work.

4. Submit it to the escapist, not the forums.
