In recent times, I've been looking into buying an HD PVR, but am not entirely sure how to go about it. I intend to use it to capture gameplay from my PS3, and then post it on Youtube. I play games on a SAMSUNG 720p Flatscreen Plasma Screen TV, running off of my PS3, and intend to connect it to my computer (can give specs via speccy is needed) and record videos onto an external. However, my PS3 and T are about 7 ft. or so away from my computer. I already have a component cable being shipped here as we speak, but I would need a long USB cable. Any recommendations? Will the kind of USB cable I get interfere with anything?
Please help. General advice and tips are always greatly appreciated, as well.

Generally speaking, cables are one of the biggest scams on the market today. The Local supermarket (whichever country you live in) own-brand value USB cable, as a rule, will give exactly the same performance as a massively overpriced gold-plated cable. Any jargon written on the advertising about reducing deterioration in signal quality is typically bullshit; USB cables carry a digital signal, not analogue, so signal quality really doesn`t matter to such a fine degree.

Same thing with ethernet cables... This: http://www.amazon.com/Denon-AKDL1-Dedicated-Link-Cable/dp/B000I1X6PM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1316312758&sr=8-1

will do exactly the same thing as this: http://www.amazon.com/RiteAV-Cat5e-Network-Ethernet-Cable/dp/B000V0ETA6/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1316312789&sr=1-1

TL;DR version: go with the cheapest cables you can find.

Thankles, brewski. :D
Does length matter at all? I would probably need a 10-ft.
