Have you ever sat down and actually thought about what your food is and where it comes from?

Take milk for example. Most people love a good glass of milk. But have you seen where bovine lactation comes from? Its horrifying. And Mushrooms! This Fungus eats dead trees/leaves/animals/and shit! Most trees and plants at least let micro-organisms decompose corpses into basic organic molecules before eating it, but not fungus! Its gross!

Have you ever thought about this?

Is it gross?

Am i a bit odd?

Yes, I understand that.
But I also understand that everything is thoroughly cleaned before getting to the grocery stores.

No I haven't.
A little bit.
YOU HAVE TO ASK?!?!?!

*Due to insanity, sasquatch99 has been replaced by a bot*

I honestly don't think about where most of it comes from. I just enjoy eating the stuff as it keeps me healthy...ish.

Are you kidding me? All the damn time.

It's especially funny when my parents are around because my dad and I will start discussing the finer points of slaughterhouses, fertilizer, the bacteria used to make cheese, and the little veiny bits in the shrimps, and my mom will be too disgusted to finish her meal.

Yup but who really cares.
All I care about is that it tastes reasonable and is healthy.

Thank you. Finally a kindred spirit. Me and my dad sat at the table the other day and discussed the contents of an egg. Highlighting the calcium content that would soon become bone, and the tissue that would form internal organs and even skin and feathers.

My stepfather does the same thing. it just makes me wanna punch him for being so bias. The guy will hesitate when it comes to eating a meat group like poultry or pork, but won't hesitate to catch a dozen fish. And then he'll gut them, clean them, and cook them. It pisses me off.

I don't eat/drink either of those.

The only things I eat are the things that started their life peacefully enough, on a rainy day born screaming into the world as their mother labours to give birth. Torn from their mother at a young age, they slowly grow over the years, fed by the farmer and eating beside the other various farmyard animals, until one day, when they are mature enough, the farmer takes them to the local slaughterhouse/butcher's shop, and removes the bones and internal organs of the beast, leaving only the muscles and fat. They then freeze the meat, send it to grocery stores, where it is bought by someone who intends to feed me.

Unless it's from Wendy's, in which case they just raise and kill the animal in the back, thus ensuring the freshness.

Also plants. Which are pretty much the same deal, except they often watch their babies be torn from them, only for me to devour said proto-plants with much zeal beside veal. Hey, that rhymes!

OT: No, maybe, probably.

Always pleasant to discuss the finer points of the anatomy of the animal that you're eating at the moment. :)
