I don't think that origin was a smart idea on EA's part.
EA pretty much lost me as a customer, to bad, i liked many of their games.

I would totally swap my ME2 for your Bastion, but how do you do that again?thenumberthirteen said:BF3 not showing up on Steam and requiring an Origin client to play is just awful. I have half a mind to... OHMYGOD FREE GAMES GIMMIEGIMMEGIMME! All is forgiven.
Though I wasn't sure if I'd buy this game on release so I may pass on pre-ordering it. The only interesting title on offer to me is Mass Effect 2, and I already have it. 2 copies in fact (long story) BTW anyone want to swap a Steam copy of ME2 (or Saints Row 2) for a copy of "Bastion" or "From Dust"?
Actually I was after the other way round. I've got giftable copies of Mass Effect 2 and Saints Row 2 for trade (I don't want hats).de5gravity said:I would totally swap my ME2 for your Bastion, but how do you do that again?thenumberthirteen said:BF3 not showing up on Steam and requiring an Origin client to play is just awful. I disagree.MitchyD said:This is a smart move for EA. Limiting the release of one of the year's biggest games funnels buyers toward that particular digital distribution service.
Not in a bad way, but a kindly joking, intheweeds said:Still, Battlefield 3 needs to give me realistic orgasms before i give my personal info to yet another video game company. I just want to play my purchased games, not 'play corporate purchase games'.
Yeah i know. I haven't played any EA games since they tried to make me sign up. So i'm still safe. *crosses fingersRienimportant said:Not in a bad way, but a kindly joking, intheweeds said:Still, Battlefield 3 needs to give me realistic orgasms before i give my personal info to yet another video game company. giving your "personal info," besides your credit card info, they already have it haha. EA accounts are Origin accounts.
But on another side, I do agree with you. I'm not so miserly with my money, but when it comes to my actual information...ehhhhhh. Even though I trust most companies to guard my information as best as they can, doesn't mean that I think that their best is that good.
It's actually a really stupid move for EA. Anytime you limit the locations of your product, you are making it less available. They want to beat CoD, they won't like this. CoD will be sold on everything.MitchyD said:This is a smart move for EA. Limiting the release of one of the year's biggest games funnels buyers toward that particular digital distribution service.
Steam is the same way as far I know.oldtaku said:If it requires Origin for even the single player game, I ain't buying it. There's plenty of games to play without that bullcrap.
