While I think "Ork" looks better because K's are kewl. I use the Tolkien method.

PS- Chrome says they both don't exist...

Orc can not be copyrighted as it refers to a mythical creature passed down the ages.

ORK can be copyrighted as it takes the mythical creature, puts it in space and gives it a specific difference (being plant based in it's physical makeup and pyshicly being able to make guns and shit work that should not)

Disney does that a lot. You can't Copyright just say, the Little Mermaid. So it's "Disney's The little mermaid" taking the public domain story and only protecting their version of it. As well as characters. Yeah I got a 6yrd daughter and they describe them "The beautiful Belle" The enchanting Ariel or the Syphilus Shawna for legal rights to that character.

So Orc is everything Orc outside of 40k. And Ork is the 40k or Fantasy and GW creation...

I only use Ork for WH40K (Which is the only place I've ever actually seen that particular variation used). Normally I just use Orc.

Tolkien wrote the book on fantasy. Orc it is. However, I reckon Ork suits 40k better as the 'k' makes it sound a lot more modernized (although in this case it's 40 000 years in the future but hey)

I SAY both, because there's no audible difference between the 2.

I spell it in context.

Ork as a spelling originates from some of Tolkien's early writings pre-LOTR; he officially used Orc (in reference tothe mythic Roman Orcus or the Orcneas in Beowulf) but mentioned Ork on more than one occasion I believe. The WH40K/WHFRP uses Ork in much the same way it uses Eldar, another word wich originates with Tolkien.

But yeah, it's Orc =)
