Considering I'm a computer programmer (so most my life is "tech" stuff) and still haven't gotten around to teaching myself to play that bass I bought yet - guns. Yeah, if you are against them, don't even start, I'm sick of hearing it already.
I've got a few airsoft and two real ones myself (22 cal long rifle and Sig Sauer GSR, if you're wondering). I don't use the real ones much though, as one is for hunting and the other is my personal defense firearm. That thing has saved me from a few scrapes here and there. Anyone know that scene is Mass Effect 2 where Shep opens Grunt's Pod and Grunt presses Shep against the wall? I've been in a few situations like that. That's why some people refer to those things as an equalizer.
I have a bolt action .22 rifle, a GSG 522 PK (basically an MP5 clone that shoots .22 rounds, but it is a piece of crap, magazines have feeding issues constantly), a Taurus Slim 9mm, and then a Romanian AK-47. At most, I got shooting once a month, usually more along the lines of once ever few months. The pistol is mostly for self defense (do a little target shooting with it), AK is for target shooting, and I'll probably sell the 522.

Other than my feeble attempts to play bass & guitar, I enjoy working on cars & I like to cook. I do a bit of photography when I can & some graphic design, in fact I recently made the invitations for my cousins wedding.

I fence, write short fiction, and do sound and lighting for am-dram.

I also do some programming in my spare time, but I do that for a job too, so I'm not sure it counts as a hobby.

Well, I recently finished up an 8-week improv class with a fairly successful show, and most of us in the group agreed we would take another one when they started again.

So there's that.

Kind of uncanny timing really.

See, when I was a kid, I was into card tricks. You know, magic tricks using a deck of cards. I really enjoyed it and got a lot of attention from the other kids with my tricks.

Then I... stopped. I don't really know why, I just stopped.

Anyway, something recently got me interested in picking it up again, so I've spent most of my leisure time for about 4 days now working on swing cuts, double lifts, pinky breaks. I actually have a deck sitting next to right now that I practice with whenever I'm waiting for code compile. When I'm not posting on the Escapist of course.

tearing apart action figures in order to make custom ones
Have you tried making your own parts? That would be awesome.
I probably don;t have the knowelge or materials to do that, though its suprising how well random parts can fit together...as is the nature of action figures
A mixture of cornstarch and silicone caulking (ie bathroom caulk) can be molded into bricks and then carved, it can be coloured with food colouring in the mix or painted afterwards.

I only ever made single piece figurines myself, but I bet with practice you could carve ball joints that pop together (like a the pelvis-femur connection on a skeleton). Although they would be pretty flexible action figures.

I've always enjoyed cooking, but I've really focused on learning more about technique and ingredients over the past year. I think I actually prefer baking, because I like to start completely from scratch, so that I feel like I've created something out of nothing. However, I enjoy pretty much any form of cooking, whether in the kitchen or grilling on the patio, and I will almost always pick a recipe that I've never made before over one of my favorites, just to try something new and see what I can do to make it appeal more to my tastes.

I really enjoy reading. Mostly science fiction or horror (especially zombie fiction), but I'm willing to give just about anything a try. I also love to read graphic novels of any kind. "The Walking Dead" series is probably my favorite, but I'm only on Book 3.

I'm also a bit of a cinephile, and I'll watch just about any movie that's presented to me. I was building up a rather impressive little DVD collection before I subscribed to Netflix, but I haven't really bought many movies over the past few years, aside from a few personal must-haves, or discs with special features or commentary that I'm particularly interested in. I'm always looking for something new to watch, especially if it's *different*.

I do bits and pieces of writing, although it doesn't usually get very far. I learned to play a bunch of instruments and write music in a variety of genres. I do a bit of drawing, but that's only coming along very slowly. I rather enjoy cooking. I'm also really into my rugby (go Leicester Tigers!) and my hockey (go Buffalo Sabres! Fuck you lockout!), although I only play the former. I can't skate all that well, so I've no hope of even casually playing hockey :p

I used to be really into Warhammer, and while I still have my old armies stored away, I kind of fell away from that when I couldn't afford it and when my university's tabletop wargaming society turned out to be really kind of insular, so I had no-one to game against.

comedy improv or more serious acting? Either way still entertaining if done right.

As for me, I;m a wargamer/hobyist (40k and fantasy for now, but i hear about and see plenty of other minis i want to use for some reason or other). Im pretty shit at converting minis, but thats because ive never bought any greenstuff or putty, which limits me severely. I guess im just more concerned with getting good with the first army i've done ever and getting good at painting before i do any conversions, except for a couple small ones i did which turned out meh.

Its a lot of fun, i find myself regularly spending hours looking over a mini to make sure i did it right. Sometimes I actually succeed in my attempts to paint well. Just recently re-did a bunch of firewarriors when i did a green-red scheme (which wasn't intentionally christmassy, but i realized it after the fact and just rolled with it). Turned out well, im just sick to shit of painting fire warriors now. Next time, im just gonna get them on the sprue.

Other than working, all I do besides video games these days is hacky sack (for fun and exercise) and waste spend time on gaming forums. It's really sad and I need to pick up a new hobby, I think. Photography sounds appealing. Well, I guess I listen to a lot of audio books and podcasts too. Are those hobbies?

There's a lot of things I enjoy doing, but there's no one thing I'm keen on enough to call a hobby. I learned some musical instruments but I don't play them much now, I watch a lot of TV and films but that's not a hobby, I dip into and out of interest in certain sports. There is nothing that especially defines me as a person over anyone else. Jack of all trades, master of fuck all.

Reading, drawing, playing chess

Ever since I go to uni I found out that I also like to go on parties (which is something I really didn't like doing in school)

I study various mythologies for fun. As well as demonology.
If you'd have told the me of ten years ago that one day I'd be studying as a hobby, he'd probably laugh at you.
I also do a fair amount of excercise- mostly weightlifting and hiking.
And when I just have absolutely nothing else to do, I tend to watch my way through entire television series, usually animated ones. For example, currently I'm watching every episode of Dilbert. I didn't even know they made a cartoon of that until last week. But I bloody love it.

I play a lot of rugby in school and for a club. It's nice and physical and I was brought up to love it. I go out with my friends and spend a lot of time studying. Its gaming related but I spend a lot of time helping to run a Minecraft server. More stress than you think.

I love learning about cultures and languages. I don't mean learning the languages (though I do love that too), but just the history and their roots. I even like searching up grammar rules on Wikipedia/Wiktionary just for fun.
If only my English teacher could see me now. She'd be so shocked.
