What are people's biggest criticisms of you, and do you think they're founded?

I have an addictive personality and i'm always on the internet RPing, and it drives my brother crazy. He says that my RP addiction isn't healthy, and that i'm stunting my social skills.

Yeah..he's TOTALLY right. I am an rp addict and i have no social skills. I still won't change anything though as there are far worse things to be addicted to.

I've also been called too trusting, and too eager to make friends, too willing to blindly believe people.

Yup..I guess i'm naieve ^^

Some are some are not, to be honest I can be a dick to some people (those I don't like) and they would be correct in calling me such but it's quite hard to apply a general term to someone as people tend to act differently from person to person. I'm nice to some people, I'm sure... someone anyway, likely by mistake.

I was told that I was lazy as a kid... maybe there's some truth there but TBH I don't think I'm lazy these days

My friend's have criticised me for being untrusting and paranoid to an extent, which is true, I sometimes have trouble understanding what other people think and fear that they might be plotting something behind my back or privately dislike me, I guess I'm the opposite of you OP.

I can't say whether these things are founded. One is not usually the best judge of their own character. I'd say the first two aren't necessarily true though.

Although people always tell me that I never smile, if that counts.

I am in fact short, and perfectly OK with that, but I don't think I'm angry at the world, I don't have an issue with most people, it's those that do jerk-y things that get me angry. Unfortunately there are a lot of jerks in this world.

I tend to criticize myself much more than other people criticize me.

Well my brother once called me a hermit just cos I have no social life which also concern my parent sometime (no local friends in this town and don't exactly go out much).
Yeah it's true and while I'm not insecure about it but that insult did pissed me off (I held back before I argue back against him since no one should criticise of my social life) as I take pride just the way I am.

It's very much true. I can't force myself to do any better though.

I also get called shallow and materialistic a lot. I don't agree with that but so many people have said it, it must be true.
I'm not sure how... I don't judge anyone or anything by looks, I don't own anything expensive, I never go shopping for myself and I never wear make-up. I'm sure there's reasons though.

Well my mum and her boyfriend are constantly worried that I'm depressed because I rarely venture out of the house. This is unfounded in my opinion as I really am just an introverted person and keep in contact with enough people to satisfy my social needs, though their fears aren't unfounded as I did suffer through depression earlier in my life, but I'm well past it. I've also had people say that I have difficulty maintaining friendships and realising when the women are interested, which are things I need to work on, but my introverted attitude kind of hinder.

Believe me when I say that just because a lot of people believe you are something doesn't make it true. Take Mr. Darcy in pride and prejudice, most thought he was a snobbish ****, with no affection to anyone aside from his rich important friends. In truth, he was a sweet man hiding his personality behind the expected vale, as well as suffering some particularly annoying experiences. A less bookish example would be that a lot of people enjoy the transformers movies.

One friend criticizes me for not swearing enough.. and not wearing enough shorts.. so i think i can be thankful for its nothing HUGE! but its true i do wear a lot of pants and rarely swear so i guess they arent unfounded

The main thing is that I'm either arrogant or that I'm an asshole. The first is somewhat founded seeing as I do think I'm smarter then most people, but most people think it because of the fact I do well in classes with no effort, not because of anything I've said or done besides that. Me being an asshole is also somewhat founded because I have little patience for people who I already know I don't want to be friends with so I do come off as an ass. Though that's only if they do something to break me out of my oh so joyful demeanor.

Not much that I know of as far as my friends are concerned, but I have no real criticism of them either so I guess that jives well.
