Our one "nostalgia trip" game

Every gamer has one moment that hooked them on videogames forever. From that first time we stomped a goombah, to the first time we tea-bagged an elite, we all have one game franchise we love more than any other. But then there's that other game. The one we found at the back of the rental store when we were 10 years old. The one only we knew about, and only we liked. The one game that, no matter how old we get, we can still look back on with the same child-like wonder we had when we first popped that sucker into our machines. Yhatzee has his Fantasy World Dizzy, but what do we have?

For me, my nostalgia trip game was Blinx: The Time Sweeper, for the original Xbox. In this game, you control a cat with a magic vacuum cleaner, who controls time itself in order to rescue a princess, and save the universe. Looking back, it's not without its flaws (bad auto aim, 10 minute level time limites, excruciating difficulty), but to me it's ballanced out by awsome music, colorful, Tim Burton-esque levels and the fact that YOU PLAY AS A CAT WHO CONTROLS F--KING TIME!!! Sadly, because it was so hard, I never finished it, but thanks to the magic of Youtube, I have finally seen the ending cutscene after 7 long years. Ahhhhh.

So, my fellow escapists, what's your nostalgia trip game? Do you even have one? It can be anything from Atari to PS3 but do you have one? Please tell us about it.

It was some game for the N64 for where you were a chameleon and had to solve puzzles for icecream or something.
I think it was called Chameleon Twist.
So many memories

Jet Set Radio Future for me. Colourful, artistic environments. Catchy soundtrack. Fun gameplay. I loved it. Course, it had bad things, like every game, but I love it

Sonic the Hedgehog. I may not really play the game anymore (far too easy now), but I still love the game. I have Green Hill Zone as the ringtone for my phone, which always gets me some knowing smiles from strangers.

I don't really "do" nostalgia, with the possible exception of the early Pokemon cartoons and their horrible, horrible writing/acting.

It's between Final Fantasy IX and Metal Gear Solid. Between those two games is my love of the medium in general. To this day, I've never again connected with characters the way I did with the ones in those games and I still get the exact same feelings as when I first played them now, and with a sprinkle of "nostalgia-enhancement".

The original House of The Dead 2 for Dreamcast. It feels like a massive nostalgia trip whenever I play at arcades (or even when we have the Wii set up and can play the remade version). Back then, there was no such thing as bad graphics, horrible voice acting and cheesy as all hell dialogue.

But I say this to add some variation, because we all know that Sonic, Mario, Zelda and any of the old legends can pang the nostalgia nerve.

Out of all the games I played it would be the arcade house of the dead 2, duck hunt, and Perfect Dark. Happy memories, I still love Perfect Dark on the 360.

The first Call Of Duty game is a trip down Memory Lane for me.

It's also a great, great shooter and I have it pretty much memorized.
