Streets of Rage, for the Sega Genesis. Everyone knows about Sonic games, but not many know of Streets of Rage.

Buck bumble and blast corps for the N64 are the 2 I am always using for this question. Did anyone else play those?
also pokemon trading card game for gameboy, but that's probably more well known.

Any Gameboy Color game I've played through years. Most notably: Zelda: Link's Awakening, Wario Land 2 & 3, Super Mario Land 2, Pokemon Blue & Gold. Those days, the late 90s and early 00s, I will always look back on with great sentimentality. Oooh, why do we have to grow up?

Edit: Oh, and I can't forget the first Age of Empires & The Sims.

Pokemon Yellow. Just Pokemon Yellow. It's the one game I go back and play every once in awhile to remind me what I love about video games.

Oh man, every time I find my Gameboy Color, I simply have to boot it up and play some Mario Tennis. That game used to absolutely infuriate me, and it still kinda does. But it's just so damn fun.

I'm upset with myself. I have no favourite game or even franchise. Nostalgia always disappoints me. I can't remember the first game I played, since as a younger kid I'd usually just watch my brother. No game has ever made me love it. It has hardly ever lasted longer than the first playthrough unless I had to repeat for achievements or it had a decent multiplayer.

This sums up my nostalgia trip:
The first game I bought myself.

Other notable nostalgia trip games:
- Commander Keen 1 2 and 3 and Duke Nukem 1 and 3 (the 2D ones of course) for introducing me to gaming in general.
- Rollercoaster Tycoon, the first PC game I ever owned.
- UT99, my introduction to multiplayer FPS.

Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons. That game kept me coming back for YEARS.
Oh hell yeah, nobody remembers that game and I'm still stuck around the part when you first get the kangaroo (fuck your ocarinas and your boomerangs, oracle of seasons gives you a flute that summons a RIDEABLE BOXING KANGAROO!).

Firebugs. Going way back on the PS1.

And Resident Evil 4, the best game on the planet and I challenge ANYONE to find me a better game.

FFX.
First good videogame I ever owned. It's about ten years old so I was four at the time.
To this day I love every second of that game... Except blitzball.
Best in the series in all aspects in my view.

Spyro the Dragon, 1st game in the franchise. Best Ps1 platform game. Ever. It's like the predecessor to the greats like Jak, Ratchet and Clank and even newer titles like crackdown. He was my favourite gaming icon ever, until they went and rebooted the series.
