Metropolis. The anime version.

The protagonists are trying to escape as the villain's hi-tech fortress is exploding in a massive spectacle of destruction, with blazing fireballs, twisted metal and burning debris flying everywhere.

To be fair, I love the surreal effect!
And that's why it's such an effective scene.

It's the same as playing Bioshock and you enter a room splattered with blood with a corpse or two, and you can hear a Jukebox in the next room playing "Mama Love Mambo."

About 80% of songs in movie credits nowadays are out of place. Seriously, who the hell thought a lounge singer was a good idea for Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers?

Also, all of the Breaking Benjamin, Incubus and Hoobastank tracks in Halo 2. Absolutely killed the immersion factor for me.
Don't forget about the My Chemical Romance song at the end of Watchmen.

Nothing against either, but they just don't have anything in common.

Death Note's screamo-rock intro seems kinda jarringly out of place; it'd be much better suited to a frenetic action series instead of a slower-paced character-driven drama, IMO.

Halo's soundtrack doesn't match up until you play the game. But the Dynasty Warriors soundtrack has no place in the game. I'm either jamming to the music or I'm playing the game, but not both.

Putting Blow Me Away be Breaking Benjamin in the middle of a level where you're supposed to avoid the fight? Somethimg tells me that everyone in the Bungie Audio Department was impressed except Marty. Connected by Hoobastank wasn't even in the friggin' game.

Oh mai GAWD! If you've ever seen the ne Predators movie...and then heard the credit music...GAH! That is one of the most out of place uses of 50's rock and roll ever.
