There are people all over the world who claim to be able to do extraordinary things, such a speak, hear, or even SEE the deceased as well as otherworldly entity's. I myself have experienced such things. Not SEE mind you, but I've had the occasional chat with a people who's lives have passed. I don't expect anyone here to believe me, but I was wondering if anyone on the escapist have had any out of the ordinary experiences.

PLEASE NOTE: This is NOT a religious argument of any kind, this is a topic of out of world experiences, I'm trying to avoid any "Does god exist, blah blah blah" arguments or debates in this topic.
No, no you haven't and neither has anyone else.

If you can't prove otherwise you are bullshitting us! Or alternatively...

I used to be incredibly sceptic about these things until I was invited over to someone's house who would show me. Obviously, nothing happened. Two days later though, as I was making coffee, the drawers began opening and closing all by themselves. I ripped one open, no mechanics or anything there. Then the door to the balcony opened in plain sight and a shadow appeared on the balcony through the curtains.

After I armed myself with a one of these
, I walked over there, opened the curtains and nothing was there. When in bed that night I couldn't stop thinking about whether I was being pranked into oblivion or whether all this was true. All while scaring myself to death over every otherwise normal sound ofcourse.

My Grandma woke up in the middle of the night once and my Grandpa's deceased dad was standding in a corner.

He tipped his hat to her and disappeared.

There was screaming.

And I saw someone mention Deja Vu, so I figured I'd mention that I see 5-10 second spans of the future sometimes, never anything major, I just know what the conversation we will be having is, where I'm looking, what everyone is doing at that time. I see all this in a dream, and at most a month later and as early as the next day, it all happens.

Exactly the same as in the dream. EXACTLY. Even down to the "Oh crap I dreamed all this before!". I said that in the dream once and did the exact same thing as in the dream when I realised I had already seen all of what was happening, including where I was looking when I snapped my head to say that.

What did they say?
Most of the time they just seem confused. It may not seem like it but "Beetlejuce" afterlife is pretty similar to the real one. (minus the waiting room of course) People usually don't realize they are dead for a while. Most of the time though, I have just casual chats with them. What their life was like, and there's a point where they just ramble on to the point where it's almost boring. Imagine when you talk to seniors in a senior home, and that's pretty much what it's like.

Like I said, I'm not expecting you or anyone to believe me. It's just me sharing an experience I've had. Whether it's actually dead people or not, I don't care. It's just something weird that happened to me. But to back myself up a LITTLE, My mother works in the profession of what you might call a "medium".
A lot of people will say that she's a scammer that cons people out of their money by claiming she can speak to ghosts, but I've had a reading once, and let me tell you, it gets harder and harder to believe it ISN'T real.

I remember that I was still skeptical as to whether or not my mother was a GENUINE psychic. So I said to her one day "Mom, if you REALLY can talk to angels and dead people and whatnot, then YOU should not need to HEAR my questions, since ghosts can apparently read minds and shit.

SO during the ENTIRE reading, I was absolutely silent. Asking questions in my head. And you know what happened? She ANSWERED THEM AND THE ANSWERS MADE SENSE. I asked about relationship problems, and she ragged on about how relationships aren't everything, and how the focus of life should be on YOUR life first, (at this point in my life anyway)

Maybe there is another reason for this. But I PERSONALLY could not find any other way she could have known what I was thinking. Either she talks to ghosts or she reads minds herself. Either way I find fascinating.

And to pocho14, Crazy people know how to PARTY.

I once saw a man in a brown suit and a white fedora behind my dad. I described the man I thought I saw to my dad, and my dad said it was my grandfather. He would often wear those clothes, apparently.

Odd, since I never even knew the man.

I don't believe per say...I think it more as a trick of the mind or eye's/ear's ie when you see something moving at the edge of your vision or hear something, this is generally late at night or under stressful situations. I have seen a "ghost" though or what I believed was a ghost >.>
Happens to me during all times of the day.

Craziness is the first step to genius. Oh, and also Xvito and poncho14 the creator of this thread requested just to hear stories of psychic experiences/abnormal experiences. Calling people crazy or saying that we're full of shit is disrespectful and has nothing to do with an experience that you have had. We would all apreciate it if you guys just left the thread alone and got on with your own lives instead of arguing over contraversial topics.

I have personally had many experiences and continue to this day. I didn't even know it was abnormal to see the dead or the future (during the day as well as night) until I was about 9 years old. When I was young I used to see one man in particular (If you want me to I can tell you specific details about him.) He followed me everywhere. I never was scared whilst he was around, though he never did smile. He really just watched me. I hadn't ever told anyone of this man. One day my dad was showing me pictures of himself and family whilst they were teenagers. In the last picture my dad showed me I saw the same man. I asked my dad who it was whilst pointing to him on the picture. My dad started to cry (Only time I've seen him cry) and said, "That's my brother and your uncle. He killed himself just before you were born. We named you after him because I miss him so much." I never saw him again but the feeling that he's watching me has never left. Though I never saw him again I can still see the dead. Not out of the corner of my eye I meen actually see, sometimes in great detail sometimes they just appear as apparitions to me. I can NOT talk to them, I can however like most psychics, feel their presence.

Oh I think I forgot to mention that I had never seen a picture of my Uncle before that point. That's why I asked who it was.

Most likely a form of Schizophrenia.
Schizophrenia is believed to be related to genetics, Environment, family problems (This includes any type of harassment or abuse), harassment at school, and also changes sociability. No person in my family history has ever had schizophrenia. For environment: There are reports of Out of world/Psychic experiences taken around the world. This hereby debunks the environmental factor due to the fact that people on earth live in many different types of environments. Many people ARE abused by they're parents or are harassed at school therefor there is no way for me to debunk this factor. Though I CAN tell you that my parents over all have been good to me, and at school I have never been harassed (that I can recall). And most psychics do fine socially through out they're lives. (I'm using my life as an example because I can see the dead)

I am sure that many self proclaimed psychics DO suffer from schizophrenia, however I am also sure that many DON'T. I'm not trying to tell you that every "psychic" or "medium" you have ever heard of or will ever meet doesn't have schizophrenia or dementia, I'm just trying to say there are people who have no mental/social disorder, and are not con-artists. There are true psychics out there.

Your argument pertaining to environmental factors confuses me. Could you please clarify?

Oh of course. By environment I meant such things as: Family belief systems, childhood, Relations, schooling, etc. It's basically a general overview of early life and culture.

It is as I initially thought. Best to make sure rather than just assume. I felt your original post about that left it open to either mental or physical interpretation.

However, without a thorough analysis of each case a proper scientific explanation cannot so easily be rebuked. Cultures that enforce a belief in extra-planar instances are more prone to pass it off as psychic and at times prophecy. It has been speculated that many of the old divine prophets may have been suffering some such mental condition, though it is likely impossible to prove.

Which is likely the same reason people (like myself) approach this with skepticism. Only through first-hand experience could any incredulity be shaken.

Skepticism is always needed. I myself am always skeptical of others stories of abnormal events as well. I, like many others, have always tried to debunk these events using science before I ever actually believe them. It really does take first hand events to prove that someone isn't crazy, and that they do perhaps have a 6th sense.

I do not ask anyone to believe any of my stories due to the simple fact that it would be nearly impossible to prove that any of it actually happened to me and that I am not crazy. I respect your opinion and it has been dually noted.
