Is it just me, or does anyone else here ever take out their old classic games and play them when you have nothing else to play? Not like Mario-for-the-NES classic (though I still love playing them :p), I mean like FEAR 1 and Half-Life 1. This isn't for the purpose of catching up with the story, just for the point of feeling nostalgia after playing it after so many years.

You're makin' me feel old, which is tough for someone who is only three years younger than me to do. Mario on the NES is what I play for the feeling of nostaligia after so many years; F.E.A.R. is only five years old, and I was a bit young for Halflife when it came out, but man did I love my NES, my Genesis, my Gameboy, and later, my PS1 -- as well as my PC. Dark Forces, Doom Tie Fighter, or Mechwarrior 2, anyone? I had a PS2 as a kid too, but that was recently enough that it brings up a great deal less nostalgia than the other systems. F.E.A.R. is from the current hardware generation, for cryin' out loud; at least go back one generation :p

Dark forces was awesome. I slap it on a Dos emulator on occasions still. Real fun to play even in todays standards.

I have played through System shock (the first) not more then a year ago and recently downloaded Elder Scrolls: Daggerfall. I never actually played daggerfall before, but I did have TES:Arena when I was young, it was on a 2nd hand computer my dad got.

I also bought the Genesis collection for my PS3 a few months back. Holy shit was that nostalgia fix.

EDIT: I bought both oddworld games, Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver and LAPD future cop (or whatever its called) on the PSN recently too.

I love nostalgic gaming.

I have Mechwarrior 2. Not sure where it went though. Dang it, now I feel old XD!

But yea, I dive back into my collection of old games once in a while. Lemmings 2, Nox, C&C Red Alert, Neverwinter Nights. Just to remind me how good games were back then.

Haha yeah. Just the other day I actually went back to play MGS2 for the PS1.....the graphics were crap, but the gameplay was way better than some of the more modern games XD

Same here. I've been trying to play SS2 for the longest time so that I can review it here, but it has a problem with random crashes.

I'm currently playing through Monkey Island again. That fucker Stan still gave me trouble when I tried to haggle him down on a ruined ship!

Mechwarrior 2 Titanium Edition.
King's Quest V-VIII. I especially love Heir Today, Gone Tomorrow. "Nothing like getting swept off your feet..."
MGS3.
Battle for Naboo.
Rainbow Six.
Commander Keen.
Dark Forces.
Jedi Outcast.
Jedi Academy.
Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds.
Battlefront 1 and 2.
Republic Commando.
Even the original TIE Fighter and X-WING games.

Played all of these as a kid, still play them today.

Oddworld: Abe's Exoddus, IMO, is the greatest 2D side scroller ever created.

Rainbow Six on the N64 kicks ass, and speaking of N64, whenever I get nostalgia sick for the WWF, I play WWF Attitude and WWF No Mercy a lot. Those games were the shit.

If you were born in the 80's or 90's, I bet you guys played Crash Bandicoot and Spyro the Dragon (their first games, not their sequels). I know I did! I guess to me those count as classic, too LOL. Still can't get past Dingodile in Crash though :p
