So there's an outside user on my wireless connection right now, my "password protection" software just offers the password to anyone who connects. I just need a way to kick him off. Help?

Disconnect it, then set it up so people have to input the password manually, rather then having it given to them.

You should also change the password.

Wow what kind of router are you using OP
Linksys, but It's the windows 7 protection stuff.
Well set the SSID to DEA Surveillance and change the password in the router, not sure why 7 is giving out the password though.

I have a router where if I press a button it broadcasts the ID nad PW for a short time. I make sure to never press that button, especially as my neighbors have asked for my pw a couple of times. Check your user guide under the "security settings" section and see if it mentions the ID and PW broadcast feature and how to turn it off.

Windows 7 doesn't set access to your router. You have to set a password on the router for systems to use when they access it. Look up the manual for your router and follow the setups to setup a Wifi access password. Once thats done you'll have to add that password to each of your computers to secure everything. And try to use a complex password.

You can alter your router's settings by typing in your router's address into your browser (usually 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1 however it can be found in the manual) and then entering MAC addresses that you want to let access your WLAN.

I'm pretty sure that way you can filter any unwanted users out, I haven't tried it though so I'm not too sure.

It's not like they're doing anything that bad with it, right? I don't poison the drinking fountain because I'm afraid a criminal will drink out of it.

But yeah, turn the router off and change the password.
