Aren't baked treats just delightful? Who doesn't love to bake and enjoy a nice batch of cookies? Why, I'm sure even someone as inhuman and distasteful as Hitler enjoyed it on some level, occasionally donning an apron (stitched upon it "Kiss Ze Furher") and baking up some cookies every now and again, though I wouldn't be surprised if he made certain every ingredient wasn't Kosher.
Maybe it's the lack of sleep, or the fact anything, even the tin foil in my kitchen drawer amuses me, but that made me laugh so hard.

And I can't cook. Seriously.

I burnt water once.

I make a mean zucchini-walnut bread. I make it on the sly though. A big, tough, man-guy like myself gets ridiculed every time his roommates catch him baking. (doesn't stop them from trying to eat the bread though.)

I had the same problem before. So I just let the cake cool and harden a bit before putting the frosting on. I know it's some kind of uber advanced culinary skill to be able to put the icing on a freshly baked cake, but I haven't got the knack.

I found its better to use a spoon when its fresh, still tears if your not gentle enough.
My dad would kill me if he found out I was baking cakes...

I have zero culinary skills, but I'd guess the secret to spreading the frosting, from a physics POV, would be drop it around the edge of the cake and spread it inwards, therefore compressing the cake, not pulling and placing it under tension.

Eh? If you don't mind me asking, why would your old man have a problem with you being able to bake? Isn't that a required skill along with automotive repair, bartering, and basic particle cannon maintenance?

You'd better put them in their place, because baking is manly.

Just remember this: Don't cross the icing streams. =)

He thinks that women should be in the kitchen and men should be in the gym.
I think that explains it.
