Ya know. I think I used Leveler 1 time on that Cave Worm and Divide 0 times. Probably should have remembered to use those.
I used Leveler all the time, especially on those damned Hellish Kellolons. Divide works wonders against one, high powered enemy, like The Immortal in the Backyard, or the final boss in the DLC.

grinding is one of the evils of the RPG genre and i think good RPGs keep it to a minimum. I try to only play good RPGs :) Though as for over-grinding I usually always find the opposite, i.e. I'm usually woefully under prepared. I remember in Eye of the beholder I some how managed to skip a good chunk of the game and got to fighting the beholder with a fairly low level party, not good.
With baldurs gate though I suppose I did over grind, at least I maxed my characters before even getting to the city, though that was mainly because i missed a vital clue and spent about 100 hours scouring the map looking for a way into the city. So it wasn't really my choice :)

Final Fantasy Tactics was great for grinding. After hours of work I had an elite team of super killers, and a Calc for the hell of it.

I do not overgrind. I simply compensate for my weak RPG-fu, which requires I have massive statistical advantages before I can attain victory. :p
