Deus Ex: HR - Played it for about two hours, then just couldn't get the motivation to pick it back up. I thought the graphics sucked, the voice acting sucked, the controls sucked, the camera sucked. I really thought someone was having a joke on me when I heard it was being critically acclaimed as one of the best games of the year
Dead Island - I have no patience for games that are hard just for the sake of being hard. When I got to the second area and died ten times trying to take out a few zombies, I decided that it was time to quit. Not a moment too soon, apparently. I hear the sewer levels were not too far off, and were even worse than what I played.
Demon's Souls - Again, games that have the selling point of "OMG, it's so hard, but sooooo rewarding when you finally get through it," are not for me. I've read that it's so challenging that, once you beat one part, you just want to keep going to see what comes next, but that wasn't the case for me. I turned a corner, got my head knocked in by a skeleton, and the game knocked me back to the beginning of the level, didn't give me back my items, and put all the enemies back. That, and the complete lack of a pause function at all. I don't want a pause menu, I don't care if they black out the screen when you pause so you can't use it to investigate the scenery, but when I have to take a piss and the game tells me "Well, I'll just sit here. Hope no one kills you while you're giving it that second shake," THAT game can go fuck itself. Seriously, that's not difficult, it's just stupid. Hell, the pause menu has been standard since the beginning of home gaming. Why take it out now?
Bayonetta - I've said this one before, and God help me, I'll say it again, but this game was a shit heap. Horrible voice acting on top of a terrible script ("Time to go VROOM!" anyone?) with generic gameplay, over the top sexual innuendo and cut scenes that would have been considered behind the times on the original XBox. Still, it got hype, probably because it was made by the same team that did Devil May Cry. Speaking of which...
Devil May Cry - Pretty much for the same reasons as Bayonetta. Don't know why this one got so much hype, though. I beat it in just a few hours with little to no challenge, I couldn't mention one bit of gameplay that was memorable, and the only reason I can remember any plot points at all is because of the hilariously bad writing and over the top voice acting. I have no clue why this game is so hyped.
That's all I can think of right now, and that's not including games that I enjoyed, but didn't think they deserved what hype they recieved. I've gone on for too long already, though.
