Poison Ivy in AA, but only because I forgot about the quick batarang throw, which made it literally impossible to dodge her attacks. When I remembered, it was easy.

I don't play that many games with boss battles.

I'm not sure but i recently finished Transformers: War For Cybertron and the final boss battle at the end of the Autobots campaign was annoying and took quite a few retrys but i eventually did it. Some of the Final Fantasy 10's bosses were very annoying, atleast that i can remember.

Fontaine Hard Mode when he is in Ice Form. I couldn't even shock the fucker.
Whoa seriously? He was piss easy all you need is electric gel in the chemical thrower, some proximity mines and telekinesis. I beat him on the PS3 exclusive SURVIVOR mode on my first try.
Eh,I personally found his chained attacks tricky plus the combination or Splicers,Security Droids, and Big Daddy moves made him a little much but I eventually got him on the 4th try.

Either way its all matter of fact. I played hard mode the first time, and thats was my issue. Like I beat Sephiroth in KH1 first time around.

Breath of fire III nearly all the bosses after the first boss were so horible espasaly the fire dragon boss when you are fighting him 1 vs 3. The bosses were so hard you wernt sure if you were ment to lose that boss fight or not lol.

Is Yiazmat even possible?
What? Of course. I killed him without even crafting the best weapons or grinding to max level, I just went to 79. Sure, he takes really long, around 5 hours for me, and near the end he 1-shots everything he touches, but if you can keep your healer in M.def gear and with Arise as number 1 priority without buffing anything else, he doesn't really have time to kill your whole party before you resurrect someone again.

The hardest boss I've faced is King Allant in Demon's Souls NG+ when playing solo. He is easy if you coop him, but solo he is pretty much undoable, he can one-shot you with a variety of different things, constantly dashing towards you, you have to keep running away to avoid the soul-sucking, and when you FINALLY get a mere second or two to hit him he starts casting his AoE instadeath spell and you have to run to the other side of the hall. In the normal game you could get hit by 2-3 of his abilities and still be alive after that, but in NG+ everything gibs you.

Here we go again...

Anybody who knows me from the forums will know of my hatred for this bastard:

Impossible...stress-inducing...Gah!
I just had a flash back to that boss...

Seriously, that thing can go and rot in hell for its cheap insta-hit unavoidable status effects.

At that stage in the game you had about 2 Remedies, it was stupid...
i killed him on my first try. and even thought it was easy.

later on i started over tried again and died numorous times. (do not use quickenings, useless against this bastard)
Same thing, got him on my first try.
(though Im a total grind whore, so I was insanely overpowered by the time I got to him...)

Though for some reason I've never been able to kill the final boss in Patapon 2.... I feel quite bad about it...

I don't know what it's called but it's this boss on the first disc of Blue Dragon. It's in a rocky area and I believe it's purple. I might need to grind but I've stopped playing the game to stop the stress. It has a rock song with it too. Can anyone tell me it's name and how to beat it?

The final boss on Killzone 2 on the highest difficulty. It wasn't the fact that he was cloaked and toting a shotgun. It was the fact that you had to kill missile firing henchmen before you could fight him one on one. Stupidly ridiculous.

Lucifer (Morning Star) in Devil Survivor on the DS. Bonus boss on all except for one paths, last day, but you must grind to at least 90 level to stand a chance against his unique skill Megidoladyne which he casts every single round he gets to move, on your every character and demon in their team.

Only at level 95-99 you can win realistically, without losing an hour or two on him. Unless you cheat it using an exploit... then you can probably kill him with a level 70-80 character.

All Megaman Zero endgame bosses except for MMZ 2. Megaman Zero 3 was my favorite battle, against Omega. But as for overpowered bosses, gotta go with the first game's boss - X. Holy crap, his second form was horribly powerful. Compared to his fight in one of the sequels (MZ4?), it was like heaven and earth.

Oh, oh, and Ninja Gaiden games. And Diablo from Diablo 2 if you are a Summoning Necromancer. Your Skeletons have barely any resistances, your golems die fast and you most likely don't even have Revive yet to create some powerful minions.

Graven, the final boss in "Conan." I know only seven of us played that game, and I'm not terribly proud or ashamed of it. As a "God of War" fan that didn't feel like buying a playstation JUST for that series of games, "Conan" was a reasonable choice, with a very unreasonable final fight that combined combat, platforming, quicktime events, and the moment in the game where the AWESOME music was just starting to feel repetitive. Was it doable? Yes. Fun? Not so much. Tentacles FTL.
yeah that boss was a pain in the ass, I kept fucking up on the quick times so I when I did finally kill him it was after killing him like 7 times, each time you messed up he got his hp back, it was a really fun game but I couldnt bring myself to face that boss on a harder difficulty

I had the same problem! I completely forgot about that quick throw, and you just flat-out can't seem to win without it. I loved that game from start to finish, but man did that one section piss me off.

Also, Kazdan Paratus in The Force Unleashed (hardest difficulty). I spent days at that spot, and that never happens to me in games nowadays. I wanted to break that disc in half.

Honorable mention goes to the Dual-Worm boss fight in Lost Odyssey on the first disc. Not a single hard spot in the entire game except that one. Paralysis can go kill itself.

Probably the hardest I've played recently was...

The final boss from Star Ocean 2 IF you didn't just save at the final save point and then go do post game stuff, level up, and get Valiant/Valkyrie and stuff and come back.

His first form was either pathetically easy or completely impossible depending on whether he managed to cast those ridiculous rings that he could spam that covered like a third of the area and pretty much killed you if they caught you. But that's nothing, as soon as he goes into the second form you're done, he can move about 4x as fast as you and cast a spell that hits everyone for 9999 damage while moving. The only way i found to beat him when you first get to him was to use Chisato's tear gas to knock his first form up against a wall and then spam it because it hits like 13 times in 2 seconds and he can't actually cast the spell to go into his second form so he's just pinned there until he dies. I've never been able to beat him once he goes into his second form without having post game gear and being level ~180. And that's not even with his limiter off :/

Of course, Ran can't be nearly as bad as Yukari (by virtue of being the Phantasm boss). Haven't reached her yet because of Ran though. Extra stage bosses have unholy amounts of health.
Actually, (and I guess this is an incredibly minor spoiler. Barely even a spoiler at all), everyone who has played and beaten both the Phantasm stage and Yukari herself say that it's easier, by nature of being what basically amounts to a remixed version of the Extra stage.

Basically, in Extra, you fight Ex-Chen as a Midboss, and Ran as the boss.
In Phantasm, you fight Ran as the Midboss, and she basically does slightly harder versions of what Chen threw at you in Extra, and Yukari does a lot of spells that are literally just Ran's spells, but a little faster and with a few extra waves/lines of bullets/lasers to dodge, plus a few new/unique and incredibly difficult cards that you have to learn on the fly.

From what I understand about skilled players, because they only have to adapt to what they've already seen, plus a little extra, they get through it easier then when they were learning Extra initially. Of course, this means that it's the same as when one goes from Easy to Normal(or Hard to Lunatic); just harder versions of what you've already seen, which does technically mean that, yes, Phantasm is harder then Extra.

I put way to much thought into this (and this is the short version. The original was around 2.5-3 times in length).

Twinrova from Zelda: Oracle Of Seasons (or Ages) It's so monotomous that I don't even know how many hits she can take or that I'm doing something wrong. Eventually I just blunder and die. And then to think I might have to fight Ganon next. UGH!
I believe you just hit the fire balls at the blue one and the ice balls at the fire one, then when they merge, whack em with yer sword, then when she goes two different colours, fire scent seeds at her.

For me, that wasnt the hard bit, it was figuring out the bloody puzzle before hand, although I was pretty young at the time
Scent.... Scent Seeds...? After what... eight years or so I can't figure out that I had to use SCENT SEEDS?! RAAAAAAGE! I'm going to play it right now!
Twinrova, you filthy HAG! Prepare to be scorched by my wicked comeback!
You do mean that I hit her and then shoot the seed? Not that there is a third form?

By the gods... You are right. I did it! I finally did it! T-Thank you... O_O So much...
Hah hah, glad you finally did it bud, I might have to go play through them again, great games, still stashed away nice and safe, it was a pretty method of killing her, I mean why on earth would you think to use Scent seeds in all fairness,"Feel my mighty seeds, evil being, ragh!"

More and more of the later Boss Batles in Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker. They have so much health it is ridicules. Maybe with Co-Ops it would be easier but by youself, and god help you if you are trying to capture said weapon AND kill as few people as possible.

Trying to avoid a bomb dropping helicopter while simultaneously trying to knock out well-armed soldiers with hand to hand combat 4 at a time and sending them away in balloons. My only problem is i run out of balloons.
Pfff. Bomb dropping helicopter. At least you get a massive warning. Try a missle lauching instikill tank.
Too bad the massive warning almost always comes when i am surrounded by 3 soldiers pissed off by the fact that I'm about to throw one of their friends into the ground headfirst. I can't take down the four of them fast enough, and i just get bombed. (because real men use fists, not tranquilizers)
