Can someone line up the pop singer community, the rap community, the techno community, the Disney community, the child singer community (for those that aren't in the Disney community) and... lets see... I think that's it. I'll just point at that line up and say "Pretty much that." I'm actually starting to like country because it's the only non-technologically over the top music that isn't emo. Seriously, it took me days to find a furking love song that's not emo or techno, love is supposed to be a happy time, stop fucking whining about it!

I'm counting House as the pop community, just FYI, and anything else that sounds like that. Didn't know there was a difference until it was quite aggressively pointed out to me a while back.
There's a lot of really good pop and rap! Lil Wayne, T.I., P!nk, and Avril to name a few. I kinda agree with the rest of that. I know this is personal opinion but the whole thread is.

Liam Gallagher. He's alright, but I was always more of a Damon Albarn fan. Gallagher was always way too nasally and whiny for my taste, and his lyrics are often really vapid. He's far from being among the best modern British frontmen, and is miles away from the likes of Carl and Pete from The Libertines.

Macy Gray. She was touted as the next big thing and compared to some of the greats.

The reality was that, during her most famous song 'I Try', she had to rely on backing singers for the drama and couldn't even hit the big notes at the supposed big final chorus.

Her voice is weak, stretched, irritating and tuneless.

Axl Rose. I don't get what everyone sees in him, he sounds really cranky and annoying. Plus, he's a douche.

AC-DC is way overrated, all of their songs sound the same.
First off, this is a thread about singers, not bands.
Second, if you're telling me you can't make tell of audible difference between this [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0fSEjlLQcRY] and this [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bomv-6CJSfM], then it's time to seek medical attention.
I'm sick of hearing people go on like every AC/DC song sounds like every other AC/DC song.

I don't give a shit what the title of the thread is singers/bands/voices/sounds what does it matter?

I never claimed I couldn't tell the difference between songs but with a voice like that and most songs starting with guitar (which I'm not a huge fan of in the first place) they have the same general sound. I can tell an AC/DC song within the first 5 seconds, and its not because I am a huge fan.

anything that came out of disney, or bieber or gaga

they're completely marketed just to attract attention, and their song lyrics don't help a bunch either

AC/DC, The Who, Guns N' Roses... basically all the classics everyone likes.
I have the old person mentality of the young people and their loud music that needs turning down. All that music is very loud.

I like James vocals the way they are now, back in all their best records, I thought his voice fucking sucked.

Love the irony, I think his voice is too mellow now.

Before his balls dropped while he was doing the Black album his vocals were actually passionate. I can't stand the way he sings now.

Huh I feel the complete oposite lol
I think he has quite a bit of passion now-a-days but back then he couldn't hold a note and sounded quite awful.
Edit: his vocals in S&M were the best I've heard.

Hmm... overrated singers?
I see Ozzy's already been mentioned , so...

Certainly most of the ones that have regular radioplay suck hairy balls, but I can't come up with any names.

Okay so this is a thread about singers you find either over-rated or just plain bad.
But to take an unexpected turn, as a metal head I'm not here to bash pop singers.
But to say: Am I only one who thinks Ozzy Osbourne and Rob Halford are really bad singers?
Keep it civil.
Nah, Ozzy was a great singer, try out his first album with Black Sabbath, he only seems to be a bad singer now. I have to agree with you about Rob Halford though.

OT: Hmm, probably every modern pop singer. I just don't see what's so great about them, especially since their voices are usually so remixed and altered that you can actually HEAR it when they sing.
