"Right..." She limped closer, weary of the other person. "Who's he?" As much as she wanted help, she needed to know she could trust who she was allying with.
"I'm Catherine." She almost reached out to shake his hand, but decided against it. "You've seen what I know of my power so far." From what she had seen of 3W, it would be a lot better to be on his team rather than the receiving end of his attacks. "Since I found these guys destroying everything I've been trying to stop them. And now, killing is the only option." She wiped some mud from her clothes.
Seeing David's face when he mentioned his 'human' name, 3W came up with a quick excuse:
"It's a translation of a foreign name. Anyway, what do you, uh, do?"
"Don't you have some sort of power? Otherwise, you'd probably be dead by now, right?"
However, before David could reply, 3W detected the incoming missiles.
"Get down!" He yelled "I'll try and take them out!"
He took aim, and started up his music-systems. After a brief warm-up, he began "Falling Apart" by the AAR, and watched in satisfaction as the missiles literally fell apart in the air.
Extending his sensory range, 3W detected the approaching tanks. Suddenly, panic set in. Would he be able to fight against normal humans? He began to run through logic patterns that he could use to stop the first law applying to the army personnel.
Ten seconds and three logic attempts later, something struck him: he was trying to find a way to fight the humans. If he could go that far, would he be able to persuade someone to do the rest and re-program him?
Turning back to Catherine and David, he said "Do either of you have any skill with robotics programming?"
mister terrible`s base is reached completion a spiked wall that pointed diagonally outwards surrounded the station which became a four story tower twice as wide as the original building from listening to the radio they were alerted about the military presence in the town.
"hmmmm I wondered when the government-"
"terrible missiles are headed straight for the building" summoner said looking distressed.
"got it" mister terrible ran outside and stared straight at the missiles.
"telekinesis guy I need your help when I hit the missiles with lightning you direct them away from the station" mister terrible ordered the telekinesis guy who obliged facing the missiles who were drawing ever closer mister terrible fired bolts of lighting at them frying their guidance systems sending them curving off course the telekinesis guy then pushed them with his mind sending them onto the other side of the fence blowing craters around the barrier this continued until nearly the entire station was surrounded by craters when the dust from the explosions settled tanks were spotted on the horizon.
"huh pitiful, when will they learn" mister terrible muttered pressing his hand over his face.
"Larry let`s go teach these pricks a lesson" mister terrible said walking up to the wall.
"got it boss" Larry said walking up next to him.
"hey teleporter I need you to teleport us over the fence oh and by the way what`s your name" mister terrible inquired looking at the woman with curiosity.
"Jessica thanks for asking" she smiled placing her hands on mister terrible and Larry`s shoulders and in an instant they were on the other side. Larry and mister terrible ran at the tanks Larry being the hulking man that he was simply charged at the tanks and knocked them onto their backs. mister terrible ran up to a tank dodging it`s fire he then lept over the hatch and threw a lighting grenade killing all the occupants. Two tanks remained Larry charged at one but stopped in front of it taking the barrel and twisting it into a knot, mister terrible not to be outdone ran at the tank and stuck his hand inside the barrel he fired a lighting bolt setting off the shell`s explosives blowing the turret off, all the tanks were gone...for now.
"well that was fun and I think I have some use for the two tanks that are left" mister terrible said pulling his hand from the barrel.
"what did you have in mind" Larry asked turning to face him.
"we`re gonna salvage them into turrets for the base I need you to drag them back that cool with you" mister terrible responded walking back to the station.
"sure no problem these things are as light as a feather" Larry boasted picking a tank up with ease.
"see you back at base when you`re finished then" mister terrible yelled standing next to the fence waiting for Jessica to teleport him back inside.
damn I`ve gotten wordy last couple of posts I`l try to shorten it next time
Although he was notived by a security camera, it didn't look as somebody was coming after Steve. He hid somewhere, listening to people passing by. They looked like they were building something.
After a few hours, he exited the hiding place. Everything looked quite different. It's a good thing nobody noticed me... he thought. And then, suddenly, something appeared right behind him. He turned around, noticing a man who looked vaguely familiar, and a woman next to him. He focused on the man. Down, down-forward, forward, down, down-forward, forward, tap punch he thought, unleashing a deadly barrage of fast punches towards him((OOC: Dudley's Rolling Thunder Super Art )).
"Ugh... A bit. What are you looking to do?" 3W was obviously going to ask something stupid, which would probably alert David instantly to the fact that 3W was robotic.
David stumbled down. The music hurt his ears and he was sure that the guy didn't have any guitars hidden in his pockets. Another one... seems that everyone still in the city has these powers. He stood up, dusting himself.
"Robotics programming? I was a programmer back when this wasn't happening, but I think we can work it out..."
David flicked his fingers and a small crackling lightning shot out.
The Company had already established a safety perimeter around the city - tanks, soldiers, cannons... everything what the military had to offer circulated the perimeter. Some missiles had already been launched as an warning, but a full scale attack was yet to be decided.
"Catherine, come over here" said 3W, leading her round the corner. "I need you to reprogram me in such a way that I am able to attack the army troops. All it requires is a simple change to make the Third Law stronger than the First. I've made the program, but I was designed so that I cannot directly reprogram myself, so I need you to set it running. Here." He passed her a memory card "This is all you need"
"Er..." She looked at the card. "Seems easy enough." She had expected nothing too complex in the back of a robot's head. The back of the head came off fairly easily, and it revealed a blue labyrinthine construction glowing softly, with something reminiscent of a card slot located neatly in the middle. A sigh of relief and one card inserted later, she lifted the back of the head from the floor. "Is that it?" The longer they spent around here, the more that their other companion would question their motives.
After a second or two, 3W eyes flickered, like he was waking up. He looked around, as if confused, then memory returned and he looked at Catherine and smiled.
"Thank you, and yes, that is all. I am now capable of harming humans in self defence, but I also added in a few modifications to my personality. Anyway, lets get back to David before he thinks something is amiss"
The modifications to his personality are to make 3W's mind more human, because this is his ultimate goal, to be as human as possible. He is now more able to be disrespectful to humans, and capable of forming emotions, rather than just appearing to feel them. This may require refinements...
David was waiting at the spot, but he wasn't going to be left out of important things like "computer programming". He could have used his powers to modify anything, but no.
"I see. That's why."
A small, almost invisible eye floated high above ground, twitching like a real one. David had summoned it to keep an eye on the battle, but forgot it in the explosion... now it proved it's usefulness again. A robot... weird. Well, I probably shouldn't say weird anymore. David shook his head, dismissing the "third" eye.
"I guess cooperating is the best option now, since the city is surrounded." David sighed. He snapped his fingers, conjuring a shirt.
They returned to where David was standing. Catherine's limp had gotten slightly better, resembling something like a walk now. "So David. I assume your power is more dangerous than the example you showed us." A smile formed. "Care to show us?"
She crossed her arms, and nodded. "Nice. A person with more than one power." She'd have to watch out for his powers as he used them. "Well, it'd help if we hurried up. Mister Terrible has had enough of a headstart."
"You can fly right? If you don't, this might be a bit slower than predicted."
