"Holy shiz, there's more than one who got the same powers as I did?!"

Gareth turned, the kinetic energy running through him like adrenaline.

"Same powers as... Wait! You're one of the monsters killing people?"

His vision turned red. This was one of the people he had sacrificed his morality to destroy. Look at him. So calm. So collected. So confident. How dare he be anything but repentant.

A surge of kinetic energy sailed towards David's chest, moving so quickly that a tree it passed by snapped at the middle.

(I'm assuming that you are using Yang's Tenshin Senkyuutai. Don't blame me if I'm wrong...)

She sidestepped quickly. And not a moment too soon. The man had missed her by a few centimeters. Maybe she would be lucky throughout the battle, getting moves she knew how to dodge. As the man landed from the missed attack, she unleashed three shots. One for the torse, and one aimed at each leg.

(yep. you play the game too? :p)

Two of the shots missed, but the one aimed at the left leg caught. Steve spun around wildly, and as was flying towards the ground. "Downdowndowndowndowndowndowndowndown" was all that he could mutter, but after the hit (which, surprisingly, wasn't as painful as it looked) he stood up pretty quickly. His left leg bled. "Wish I was Q..." he thought, as he assumed the fighter's pose. He took a few deep breaths, and locked his eyes on the gun. Whatever type the gun was, it was still pretty useless at that distance. This time, he'd wait for the woman to make a first move.

(Na. GameFAQs have a move list. :p)

The gun can't be the only power. Her next move would be risky, but if it worked, it might give her an edge over her opponent. She ran towards him shooting once, before performing a jumping kick, going to hit him in his stomach.

"Forward." The parrying could be taught in Street Fighter, but that was a matter of frames. Here, it was a matter of instinct.

He pushed off the leg before it hit him in the stomach. "Down down-forward forward, down down-forward forward, punch". The Hyper Tornado ((OOC: Sean's Super Art. Basically a series of two punches, followed by an uppercut, followed by a helicopter kick, and then a kick that slams the enemy into the ground)) could make a short work of anyone. IF this worked, it could buy him enough time to run and think of what to do.

The first punch connected, as did the several hits afterwards. Crashing into the floor after the final kick was an end to that pain, and the beginning of a new one. The pain, it was nearly unbearable. Perhaps, without powers, she'd had been killed, following the fate of many a motorist and office worker that day. Instead, she groaned, pulling herself up slowly from the ground. And the man had disappeared. Shit... He'll be back to killing soon.

Steve ran, as fast as he could. He'd need a hideout, and fast. Who knew how many there were there, coming after him. He zigzagged around the town, breaking through walls when he ran into dead ends. Almost no civilians were around, most of them probably fled the city after what has happened.

He vaulted over a wall, and found an abandoned basketball court, with an old warehouse nearby. Nobody was there. He busted the door, sat on the bench that was there, and began to think. Again.

"If they're after me, it won't matter where or how far I run," he thought. "If I only hadn't been so stupid to try the motorway in the first place...". He bolted the door, blinded the windows, and thought.

Martin raced down the street toward a flaming police vehicle - he could hear the screams of a man inside it from five blocks down, he didn't know how but somehow all of his senses had improved, as had his agility. Speeding faster than an Olympic sprinter he dove straight into the back of the car, somehow... absorbing the fire that consumed it into himself. He turned to the front seat, and watched as a pile of ash collapsed onto the seat.

He was too late. Again. Every step he took in the criminal's trail he found more of his comrades dead, whether by fire or lightning or simply being ripped apart. Always he was too f*#@ing late!

The car exploded into a million pieces of shrapnel as flames consumed Martin, leaving his clothes and sunglasses unscathed.

"Burn them... Burn them all TO ASHES!" a voice screamed in his head, descending into insane, low-pitched laughter. Martin hovered over the melting concrete, levitating through the amount of energy he was directing at the ground. A small scratching sound caused him to turn around and hover over to a nearby car crash, lifting his hand to obliterate this new annoyance. A bloodstained young boy stood there behind the overturned ambulance, obviously terrified but defiantly protecting an unconscious form inside the vehicle. Voices swirled in Martin's head, screaming for him to incinerate the boy, to spare him, to burn, to save, to......

The fire-man stood there for a moment, his red eyes staring at Timmy (( Cliche I know :3 )) & turning his head as if he was on a cell phone like Mom had been before that big lightning had come through the windows. Timmy knew that this man was dangerous, but he refused to let him have his mother, who was breathing shallowly in the back of the ambulance.

Martin stood with his hand raised until one voice won out over the other. Flames burst from his hand, consuming the ambulance with righteous ferocity. He shot up into the air on a pillar of fire, ready to purge the whole corrupt city with righteous FLAMES.

He didn't expect such an intro. David was launched back, hurling through the air and smashing into a skyscraper. His vision blurred on the impact, pain lurched down his neck. He coughed - the air was filled with dust and screams of nearby people. David concentrated - his spine snapped back to place, blood flowed back to the body. He wouldn't die that easily.

Nor be surprised again.

David jumped up and grabbed a nearby screaming man, throwing him towards Gareth. The man spun wildly towards the target, while David thrusted his arm towards his randomly picked projectile.

"Kaboom."

(OOC: Hey can i join in too if theres still time?)
He looked over at the smoke and fire. "So others are out there, some good some bad, I wonder." said the Young man looking down from the raido tower on the now broken Office building he worked in. "You were right mom, I am special." He said jumping off the antena and crashing thru the building to the ground floor. "Anderson you going out there? I hear some crazy S@#! is going down..." the receptionist dident finnish his sentence. The piece of rebar being shoved thru his skull pinning him to the wall stoped him. Anderson cracked a sidistic smile as blood began to run everywhare. "I wonder if anyone wants to be another contestant in this game with me." Anderson said as he began to ponder if anyone else was in the building. He walked out of the building after playing sidistic games with the buildings occupants.

Steve woke up. His leg was still bleeding - and the pain was worse than he could imagine. He needed aid. Badly.

He pulled himself up, and started to walk towards a hospital. On the way there, he found a smashed clothes shop. "I should change... they may not find me...". He got in, changed into something less bloody, and resumed his quest to find a hospital.

When he got to one, it somehow struck him. "Why should a hospital be operational? With everyone fleeing, it might as well be empty...". The doors were jammed open, though, and inside was bursting with people. Children, adults, elderly... it seemed like the whole town was there, and every single one needed treatment. "I'm the part of what caused this..." he thought. He dragged his leg to the counter, and asked to see a doctor. The guy there looked at him funny: "The doctors have lots of worse injuries to take care of. One of the volunteers will help ya out - just sit down at the bench and someone will come to stitch that wound."

Steve sat down, and waited.

mister terrible was running as fast as he could turning corners and purposely slamming into the sides of buildings he had ran around for a while but suddenly he stopped he had just thought of an idea he was`nt going to find these powered-up people they were going to find him he found the tallest skyscraper he could find and did a lap around it slamming into each of it`s corners weakening it`s structure he could hear the faint cries of the people inside he laughed.
"ha it`s gonna be fun watching them fall" Mr.terrible said checking that everything was in order he then glanced back and forth a few people staring back at him in complete shock and horror before Turning to run away he did`nt care about them he started bashing at select points weakening the structure slowly making it more and more unstable he then looked it over one last time before jumping onto the building`s side and running upwards eventually reaching the top once he reached the top he did a mighty leap into the air and smashed through the buildings roof into the floor under it he started to smash through all the floors at a rapid pace leaving a giant hole in the exact center once he reached the bottom he walked to the building`s front doors and heated the handles together not allowing anyone to escape they all slammed against the door trying in vain to get out he laughed one final time and walked to one of the building`s smashed corner`s and uppercuted with both his fists ripping the building in half until the crack met the hole in the middle of the building sending one half of the building in two separate directions resulting in a loud crash and about four other building either being destroyed or damaged he then walked over to the other diagonal corner and did the same sending those two pieces crashing at his sides resulting in a loud crash and another four buildings being totaled. he looked to the center of the building and saw the blood stained rubble he felt no remorse for crushing these people he simply wanted a fight he grabbed some nearby rocks and set himself up a make shift chair waiting for someone worthy to face him

After two hours of waiting, the volunteer came. She was a girl in early twenties, the kind which you'd expect to be one of the first ones running away from the city.

She examined Steve's wound. "Where'd you get this injury?" she asked. "It SHOULD be a bullet wound, but there's nothing inside, and there is no output wound.". Steve didn't say anything. His head hurt too much, and he seemed to have a fever going. "Probably one of those mutants roaming the city..." she sighed. "I wish they'd think of someone else. I mean, venting the anger is useful, but not while killing everyone..." Chatty... Steve thought. He said: "Just stitch it... I need to get out of here." The girl looked puzzled. "Out? With this leg?" she laughed. "None of my business, anyway...". She stitched the wound, and gave him a packet of painkillers for the leg. "It should be better in a few hours, but until then, take these shots. If you're planning to walk, it will hurt like hell..." He thanked her, shot one dose of painkillers up his leg, and walked out. He snatched a packet of Aspirin while no one was looking, and ate two pills. "This should help with the fever... and I need to go somewhere safe..." he said to himself. Wait... didn't the old arcade have a basement? I could hide there, until some time has passed.... He began to walk towards his home, and the old arcade.

Gareth was thrown to the ground, covered in blood and the wet remains of the man. His mind didn't register his body hitting the ground, and a jolt ran up him from the pain of hitting the ground. This man resorted to using the very denizens of the city against him?

He picked himself up, but found that the energy that had run through him in such quantities before now was not there. He saw a car turning a bend on the end of the street, and an idea popped into his head.

The driver's eyes widened in shock as he tried to swerve out of the way of Gareth, but the figure that had so readily thrown himself in front of the car smashed into the windscreen.

The smoking wreck of the car, crumpled by both the energy of hitting Gareth and the energy Gareth had channelled into it to prevent damage to his body. A figure rose from the metal, his hand outstretched towards David, another stream of energy blasted it's way towards Gareth's target.

The arcade was in a pretty good condition. Although nobody was there, all the game machines and the bar were still operational. Steve unlocked the door to the basement, and took a few steps down. What he didn't expect was someone hitting him with a wooden plank.

He turned around, prepared to strike, when he noticed the arcade's owner, Bishop. "Steve? What are you doing here?" he said. "The whole town has gone haywire..."
"Don't tell me..." Steve responded. "Is it safe down here?"
"I have enough canned food and fresh water for about eight months. This basement was build during Cold War, the guy who build this was paranoid. But gods, what happened to your leg?" Bishop seemed shocked.
"Bullet wound... Can I stay here? I need a place to hide..."
Bishop seemed eager enough. "Sure thing. I dragged some game machines down here. But you've been leaking enough blood to mark your path..."

Steve turned around, and saw it was true. He checked his wound, and he was bleeding like a slaughtered pig. Again.

"Don't worry, got some bandages here... Come down." Bishop said. He locked the door to the basement again, and they went down there.

David had expected a retaliation. He stared at his right arm, as it turned red. Cracks appeared on it, flames and molten magma oozing out of them. David's eyes flashed red briefly - he smashed the floor, causing a huge wave of molten lava and rock emerge, making an effective bunker-like shield. A woman screamed as she was engulfed in flames.

"Monster?! Pot, kettle, black! And I'm not even a monster, I will show the world how fucked up it is! And maybe score a few girls on the run!"

It seemed like hours since she had moved, but she looked around once more to look for the man who destroyed the highway. Perhaps there were more people like that man. More people with powers which they were using to kill innocent people. Buildings were falling nearby, killing innocents. And she would end those who caused this. So much pain and death, and for what? She did wonder, while walking towards the nearest toppled buildings.

As she neared the piles of bloody rubble she saw a man, sitting on two pieces of concrete fashioned into a seat. She fired a warning shot, as was her usual fashion.

mister terrible saw small strands of his hair fly from his head he grinned and yelled out.
"well either your a terrible shot or you believe in a fair fight so why not show yourself why yourself so we may start this" he said turning to face the direction the shot came from after about two seconds a woman came out to face him.
"before we fight answer me this why do you kill these people what is the purpose" she shouted above the police sirens and screams of terror in the background.
"well the crime rate`s too low to be a hero and well people are gonna die anyway so why not let them go out with a light show" mister terrible then shot a small spark of lightning from his hand.
"you bastard you`ll pay" she then readied her hand into a gun shape and fired, mister terrible was just barely able to dodge.
"okay let`s play" he shouted jumping into the air and throwing forth a wave of lightning which she jumped over it but by the time she turned her focus back to the fight mister terrible had run off.
"fucking coward" she muttered but as suddenly as she said it she was thrown forward into the center pile of rubble when mister terrible re-appeared behind her and shoulder tackled her.
she hit the rubble with a crash sending dust flying everywhere creating a smokescreen confused mister terrible started firing random lightning bolts everywhere not hitting anything except rubble. She was standing outside the smokescreen looking for her target firing random shots landing at mister terrible`s feet he started to panic turning back and forth only to be greeted by a bullet at his feet tired of playing games she fired one final shot hitting him in the shoulder
"ahhhhhhhhh fuck" he screamed holding onto his shoulder, staggering around looking for something to hit after the smoke screen mostly cleared he saw her silhouette standing ready for another shot he fired a one handed lightning bolt catching her off guard and striking her in the hand burning it and making it un-usable.

(Wow. That was a bit more than I had expected for being the vigilante hero.)

She switched hands, forming her left hand into a gun shape, which she really would have expected her opponent to foresee. Ambidexterity had never paid off quite as well. Her aim wouldn't suffer.

She had heard his scream, and now had a good indication of were he was in the smokescreen. She took aim, but didn't fire. Any time her opponent tried to unleash an attack he would show clearly in the smokescreen, making him an easy target anyway. She waited for his attack.
