The laser-guided RPG in the Half-Life series.
The bolter pistols and rifles from Warhammer 40k. They're basically full-auto armour-piercing rocket-propelled grenade launchers... OVERPOWERED!
They kick so much ass in Firewarrior, but in Dawn of War and in the tabletop game they're pretty average.

Relatively to armor and other guns present? Yes, they're just about right, even a bit weak. But on an absolute scale, they're horrendously overpowered. Assault Cannon is a minigun that shoots rockets!

"Holy shit!" Was all I could say the first time I used it. Killed myself in the process, too.
How does that thing work? Whenever I try to fire it nothing comes out.
Click spoiler for video.

Basically, it needs at least 100% ammo to fire.
Hold down the fire button until it goes off. It takes a bit to fire.
But can you only use it once per level? I've only carried it with me twice.. once I fire it, amazing.. but then it doesn't fire again. It just like.. makes a noise like it's overheating. And I swear that's after I pick up more Power Cells to replenish my ammo... I think.

not exactly a weapon, but: the First Deity Mask in Zelda: Majora's Mask :p (you could kill the first boss in a couple of hits)

Final Fantasy VI... a combination of the Master's Scroll and the Genji Glove (may have different names in earlier versions) lets you attack 8 times in one turn! Combine this with two strong weapons....

The 3rd Edition D&D, Epic Level Handbook.

The Holy Devastator. In the hands of nonpaladins, this works as a +3 holy longsword (yes, it keeps the holy descriptor). Give it to a paladin, though...

- Increase bonus to +7 (this isn't even allowed by standard game rules)
- Replace holy descriptor with Holy Power descriptor (+3d6 bonus holy damage and inflict one negative level on evil creatures; both these are affected by critical hits [doubling/tripling/quadrupling the effects on crit]. Yes, this also includes the undead that normally ignore such effects and attacks.)
- User gets +5 bonus on all saves against spells with Evil descriptor, or all spells cast by evil characters.
- A paladin using the smite evil ability with this weapon adds double his/her paladin level to the damage (normally adds just paladin levels).

All this in addition to standard damage and attack bonuses associated with longswords and feats governing them...Even without using special abilities, a high-level paladin does in a single turn of combat the damage equivivalent of a wizard dropping a meteor on top of their opponents head.

SWORD OF AEONS FROM THE ORIGINAL FABLE lol had like 550 dmg which PWNED soooo hard
You easily get much better weapons than that.
Its not the best weapon, no. However it is the best free weapon I'd say, considering the best weapon, the Solice Greatsword was around 70-80k ):

OT:I'd have to say my personal favourite was the Heat-Seeking missle in UT:2003. Can't quite remember the specific name though.. |:
I believe it was called the Redeemer, correct me if im wrong.

They noobed them out and turned them into grenade launchers in fire warrior though.

The Shield Rod and Alucard Shield pair in Symphony of the Night. Your shield keeps doing 255 damage to everything it touches and heals you for the damage done. It makes the game all too easy if you opt to go with it.

The Sol blade from Golden Sun, this things stats are;

- you hit stars at people, yes, I know this isn't a statistic but come on!

- It has +200 damage; the second highest damage in the game, second only to the Darksword (cursed and worse unleash)

- it has 35% chance to unleash, which is moderate, and it's unleash doesn't have to best possible damage (compared to the Tisiphone edge, which can deal around X4 damage if all arrows from it's unleash hit, which shoots seven arrows, the Sol blade does X3 damage every time plus it can only be used by characters with high base damage, Isaac and Felix)

- I stated the Sol blades unleash chance before, which is 35% chance, and with the Valkyrie mail, riot gloves, Hyper boots and the Mythril helm, the chance of unleash AND critical is raised to 99% chance for EACH one, but unleashes take precedence over critical hits. therefore nearly every attack will be a unleash for massive damage, and 99% of the non-unleashes will be critical hits for large damage.

The Golden Sword from Legend of Zelda: A Link To The Past, loved that weapon, plus it was basiclyrequired to beat Gannon.

Pretty much all of mothership zeta's guns in fallout 3.
You can easily get over 1000 alien modules and a near infinite amount of guns that go for a lot of caps and rarely need repairs.

The sword you find in the graves at the Hero's Guild was much better and Free, All Legendary Weapons in that game are free.
Which reminds me...The Redeemer.
I can send a Nuke from one side of the map to the other or guide it right into my rivals skull?
EPIC.
Thats the one >.<
however I have noticed it stated RPG weapons.
So I apologise and reconsider my weapon of choice.
I choose, the Solice Greatsword.
For its...
greatness.
