Ah, the joys of free updates for the PC.
They won't last as long as tehre are so many users on consoles willing to pay for their updates. I would be surprised if Valve charges for the next class acheivement pack, and then all the idiots on this forum will say "WHAT ARE YOU COMPLAINING ABOUT ITS ONLY 10$ GET OVER IT GEEZE YOU UNGREATFUL FANS!"
Valve is fighting Microsoft and Sony over them selling the updates for their games. Valve is on the side of free updates as of this time.

Horse Armor for Oblivion >.> I would not fork out money for something that shit o_O
Didn't that come with knights of the nine?
Nope it was stand alone DLC, it cost 200MP(?) and did essentially nothing to the game other than make your horse a bit shiner =/
Dunno what Kotn you had but its certinaly on mine, the only standalone dlc ever released was Battlehorn Castle.

Ah wait Xbox version nevermind then.

if i had the knowledge i would open a website thats devoted to what dlc is worth buying and trying to get a large number of ppl to stop buying them till they mak them free.

lets face it anyone without the internet gets the short stick and anyone who gets lucky when they can get a game cant play with there friends cause the friends upgraded there game and only want to play the dlc.

otherwise its a slap on the ass if they do what halo did and just increase the achievments with map pack releases.........how the fuck am i ment to unlock all achievments with half the game you stupid sob's. i had all 1000 points on halo then 1 day i find i need another 250 points and that a few of them require the map packs so i buy them and ill admit i enjoyed forge alot.......but would of loved it even more if it was free and yet again halo has like th most achievment points to date and its fucking stupid.

i for 1 am starting a rebel gaming community thats dedicated to halt the purchases of these dlc packages.

I am now part of DLCRebelion
Is that a boycott, or what? If it's that, then sign me up too. I rarely buy DLC anyways.

There's a book called Otherland by Tad Williams in which the internet itself is basically built on DLC. It's like the XBL Marketplace meets the elimination of Net Neutrality. Great books, though.

I can't say it really ever bugged me. paided for stuff I don't like I admit. Then again I'm the guy you all hate. I enjoy all my add on for fallout. Give me about the same about of fun time as a movie. Than again with horse armour I had spare point and got it.

If i'm paying $70 + tax for a game i feel my DLC should be free. That being said I think everyone should have a place to live for free. Money is the king of our society, never expect anything to be free.

I see two sides to this. On one hand, I really hate that there even is down loadable content, as it makes me feel that they rushed the game so I didn't get everything that should have been in it from the start. I don't mind waiting if so long as it means higher quality.

On the other hand, after having millions of people play the game, they have a much better idea of how to make the game better. You already bought this game though, so what incentive do they have to bother making that extra new content? Charge for it!

But being on the consumer end, I ultimately side with free DLC. Ideally though, DLC wouldn't be needed. I don't even play a lot of my games online.

Yeah its the two minute (What are you using a 486 ?)5 second delay that I object to not the secondary dependant process that integrates into a whole buncha shit that takes up valuable HDD space and generally is UNECCESARY. I try to keep my system clean and empty WTF do I want another process that I have to tell not to update and download whenever it feels like it that facks up MSN, IRC and torrent connections and is generally invasive and totally UNECCESARY for offline play ? Dont even get me started on the bloody adverts that pop up or the fact its UNECCESARY.

Oh yeah and GTAIV requiring Steam, GFWL & Rockstar Social WTF is that about.
Exactly my problem. I got Empire: Total War (PC excusive RTS) and couldn't play it on a friend's PC (so we could play LAN battles after I got my PC working again {windows was dead, which is why I dual-boot with Linux being for online, Windows only for games}) due to some Steam error. Nothing wrong with the game install, just Steam being stupid.

How is that worse?
I would've been pissed if I had paid $20 for Lost N Damned.

PC users got the maps for free with the V6 patch so why not us? Or get them for a reasonable price?
Because Microsoft demands that people put a price tag for DLC on 360 games. That's the only reason that the Team Fortress 360 DLC will (if it ever sees the light of day) cost money.

I hope you enjoy Empire demonman_chaos, because me and my buds have had nothing but trouble, MP is passable but no co-op campaign but single player is a buggy POS.
I didn't :(. Too slow paced and the factions are all the same really (save for 1 or 2 specialist units in each, like Minutemen). It was a BIG dissappointment after all the time I spent on Rome (Medieval 2 was also lackluster, partly because I am not a big fan of the time period and partly because the imbalance of gunpowder units). Naval battles were OK, but they got boring fast and I couldn't enjoy any land battles.
Best enjoyed by people that LOVE archer duels in the other games.

Kinda though so the AI is worse by far the strategy map is lacking strategy and the units arent historical, appropiate or beleivable.

Too make matters worse I really really hoped you could research Fergussons Breechloaders and change history. What actually happens you get a slightly better useless scout unit.
The AI did well, charging in when they were losing hte gunfight and besting my guys in the melee. Though those were small battles, never tried it in bigger battles because I got bored of it too soon.
Too many generic units with exactly the same stats breaks realism quite a bit. I don't remember the US having elite guard infantry or the standard line troops being on par with the British.

I never did the campaign, but I didn't expect much from the tech research. I heard it was almost impossible to get the AI to give up some tech info through diplomacy, which is beleiveable since all Total War games have had stingy AI.

Oh, I didn't know that.
Oh and bethesda... that's bullshit.
You do realize that stuff was a joke right? Its like 2.50 USD. I don't think thats over priced, plus, you don't need it
