Stage 2 transformations in Vindictus.
don't get me wrong, they are beastly, it's basically going super sayin 2 .... but
you need to have a trans level of 11 to get it, and each level, at best, 20 transformations. I'm kinda on the fence as to how worth it it is, but >.> you do look pretty bad ass and hit like a truck taped to another truck taped to s stick

and,

Incarnate Powers in CoH, bad ass, yes, over powered, eeyup, and, not even all that grindy to get. why am i mentioning them then? they are for ViP only, meaning $15 a month if you wanna keep em, which wouldn't be a big deal on its own, but ... that's really ALL the ViP status nets you that's worthy of note, and 15 a month just to i can have a character the spawns in missions 1-3* levels higher then the mission level is not worth it, not when most the other ViP offers i can get in the shop and never worry about losing

Good job you never hunted down every last gold skulltula then. For your trouble, you got 200 rupees, and could re-enter the house and collect it as many times as you liked. But the game would almost be over, and it was already easy enough to collect rupees by running into the house just inside Hyrule Castle and smashing all the pots.

Slowpoke Tail. For a mere 1,000,000,000.... It will be yours. Shame Pokemon G/S/C won't let you buy one.

There's an even cheaper way to get demon fangs in Okami. Floral Finishers. Once you kill an enemy and it's doing it's death animation, if you use the correct brush technique on it it will drop demon fangs. Different enemies drop a different number of demon fangs. They can drop anything from 1 to 5 at a time. And you don't have to spend a single penny on skills for it. It's also much easier to execute since you don't have to stand still in the middle of a fight like you do with the dojo skills. Here's a list of all the finishers and what enemies require what technique. [http://okami.wikia.com/wiki/Floral_Finisher]

OT: Pretty much anything in a F2P model game. Items are stupidly overpriced and are usually nothing but aesthetic. If they are functional they are usually only minimally so, not enough to justify the price. I generally don't get annoyed with overpriced items in-game, since I kind of look at it as all going towards getting 100% on the game. Having the item is kind of like a trophy for playing the game long enough or being good enough at the game to be able to buy it. Although I guess I've been burned buying weapons that become obsolete shortly afterwards in RPGs, but that's why I always save money at the beginning of these games.

The effing mental cobweb duster in Psychonauts. It costs 800 arrowheads and you absolutely need it to progress past the Milkman levels. It really just broke up the fun and caused me to completely stop every fun thing I was doing to spend about 2 hours just digging up arrowheads.

Although, that's just a small blemish on an otherwise near perfect game (IMO).

You're right, the floral finishers are great ways to get demon fangs, but on my first playthrough of Okami,i didn't use the internet much, so i had no idea of how to abuse that feature, golden fury worked quite well for me. Thanks for pointing that though.

Buying a Porygon from the Team Rocket official casino. The thing is pretty much useless unless you are going to try to complete the Poke'dex, which in and of its self is on over hyped accomplishment(to me, though I could never do it D:).

Though I do find it funny that a criminal organization has a public casino, of all things. Wouldn't they want to stay undercover.

Yojimbo and his Zanmato attack from FFX (both sold seperately).
Some of the higher level unlocks in MGS4 (stealth camo, that rifle that produces Kamikazes).
Boneduster charge shots in Bulletstorm (with a well placed shot you MIGHT make back the same amount you paid for the charge itself).
Most of the clothing unlocks for characters in the Uncharted online mode.

I have a feeling things in tribes will be like this. If you're F2P you can get 1500 in a day or two if you're just having fun in a small server. Some of the items are 100000. I cannot be fucked to grind for that amount just to have a sidegrade, thanks very much. Although they've improved the upgrade system. Now instead of buying them, it gets better as you play with it. You can still pay for it but it's a lot easier and quicker.

The stupid Magic Armor in LoZ: Twilight Princess, you need to do so much to get it and yet its pretty much useless and drains your money when you equip it.

Any of the cool Champions in League of Legends costs 6300 IP. You get like... 100ish IP per win and 50 per loss. Plus the 150 Win Of the Day bonus. Games last 30/50 minutes on average.

Ezreal? 6300. Cassiopeia? 6300. Newish champions? 6300 bitchezzzzah.

Yeah you can go for the cheap ones but they are nowhere near as cool as the pricey ones. Damn Riot and their money making shenanigans. I even bought Riven and Orianna with actual money liek a tard. Lucky I love both of them to bits so that's ok... Almost bought Fiora with money as well. Then I realised that she is an AD Carry and I can't even begin to play an AD Carry well ever.

Have 1004 RP on my account and i'm waiting for a new Lulu skin! Any time now! Come on Riot! The other ones suck get your art team on the job nao.

Also every single thing in the shop in Bayonetta. You can only buy 3 crap health items and one good health item per level. You ain't buying the cool artifacts until NG+ I can tell you that. Good job that game has about 5 difficulty settings and is fun as fuck!

EDIT: Oh my god there's a patch... Pulsefire Ezreal?! Is it finally time?!

I've always worried about the insane levels of inflation in JRPG worlds... you start in a small town where you pay usually 10 or 50 of the games currency for a night in the Inn... This is usually a good indication on how large the summs of money will be later in the game too, if the first in costs 100 then the swords at the end of the game will propbably be in the high thousands...

Anyway... back to the rediculousness... So you move on to the next town... usually a bit bigger, and a bit more exotic, and this town will have an inn that costs more... again, this is understandable, rent a hotel in Skegness, and then London and you will see!

As you progress you will see bigger and bigger inns/hotels which will cost more and more until you will probably be paying about 10X the ammount for what is essentially the SAME SERVICE!

Finally, and it happens with EVERY JRPG, you will always find yourself in a tiny outback backwards village in the 2nd half of the game... it will be hard to find, disconnected from the rest of the world and free from whatever tyranny/troubles the rest of the world are suffering... it will also usually be Japanese/East Asian themed, or be completely Jungle Tribal. Now for some reason, this village will also keep in touch with the cost of sleeping (Why does an unvisited village seem to only consist of shops and facilities for visitors anyway?) and even though it's nearly always smaller than your main characters home village, it still costs 10x as much!? Not only that, for some reason the village will produce some massively powerful weapons in comparison, and sell some of the best stuff up to that point...!?

This is made even worse (the inflation thing) in a game like FFV where all inns from start to finish are essentially THE SAME PLACE COPIED AND PASTED!!! Well, the beds are at least, so you pay more for nothing!

The ultimate overpriced inns were in one JRPG, and I cannot remember for the life of me which it was, but they had Inns you paid to replenish health and magic, where just touching a save point did exactly that too... free...!!
And there was another game (again, can't remember) which healed you after battles anyway, so was pointless even having them there...! :/

Almost every item/weapon/piece of armour in the 'World of Warcraft' auction house. Any player worth his salt has been forced to purchase something from the auction house that was incredibly overpriced whether it was a stack of linen cloth when they're trying to level first-aid, or an epic pair of bracers for their fresh 70/80/85.
