Overrated does not mean bad!

What is it with people these days? Why do so many people think just because something is overrated it is also bad? Slipknot is overrated but there still a good band if youre into that genre of music,Hulk Hogan is overrated but he was still a good wrestler back in the day and probably could be know,0carina of time is overrat-you know I could go on for a while like this.
My point is that just because something is overrated does not automatically mean its a bad thing and its ridiculous that so many people think that overrated=bad!

Why do people have to have this"my music is so much better than yours" opinion now adays? honestly maybe i like puddle of mudd and think your music is shit but that does not mean i have to go and belittle your choice in music. Common people lets just let people like the music they like and not start little flame wars over "well band X is so much better than band Y so your choice in music sucks". BTW this is not all directly pointed at you, your post was more of a jumping off point.

I don't remember this being a music thread. Anyway, Slipknot aside. Hating things that are overrated is in my opinion, a defence mechanism. We hear so much about something, that as soon as we try it, we're wondering 'what was all the fuss about?'. Then we find that people are still foaming at the mouth raving about it so we hate it because the rabid hordes annoy us so much.

Don't worry, eventually you'll evolve like everybody else has. Hell, I used to think the Spice Girls was all that and a bag of chips, now I spend more days a year with ringing ears than not ringing ears.

All you do now is add wateropinions, and a chemical reaction is triggered and the photons traveling from it to the observer's eyes warp, which causes the image projected to warp. The word "overrated" is simply a term used to denote an instance in which the photons warped to form something of a lesser quality than what other people are calling it.

Objectively, "overrated" is meaningless. It really only has meaning when you take into account opinions, in which case a person who calls something "overrated" is simply stating that they thought that the object in question was worse than what people around them thought it was.

For example, PONG is overrated.

What I just said can be objectively translated into: I don't like PONG as much as those with whom I am in contact.

Conclusion: get over it. It's just like when reviewers say a game is bad. Your thread title could easily have been; "Bad reviews don't mean bad games!" because they don't. They mean the reviewer didn't like it.

This has to be one of the biggest fails I've ever seen.

Nu Metal maybe. But Nu Metal = the worst genre of metal (even worse than Grindcore AND Goregroove).

Starter set for metal = bands like Blue Cheer, the Kinks, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, etc.
