Im enjoying the game and incidentally thanks for everyones advice on Tracer I will try Winston again against her but I get the feeling the person I was playing was just to good with her she just destroyed my McCree and Bastion np although admittedly she was supported and my team were not unified (why was I the only one on the point and the only one trying Support and Tank classes?).RJ 17 said:While that certainly would be enough for you, Blizzard has made it apparent that they intend to give more attention to character development than some slapped together campaign possibly could. I understand where you're coming from: you're just wanting something other than the multiplayer to keep people busy if they don't want to play with pugs. Others crying out for a campaign are doing so because they want an actual story with these characters in it. (editThe issue remains that Blizzard wants people to care about these characters, this is why - to them - a half-assed generic campaign wouldn't be acceptable.
I do think the game is lacking in what could have been and the fact it has gone the Destiny route of having almost nothing in the game to flesh out the characters is very poor seriously not even a brief Bio Blizzard? or have I missed that? It fine if they want to flesh out the characters more outside the game great even actually but why is none of it in the game? Surely there could have been some 2 minute unlockable cutscenes or even text entries that would slowly reveal more about the characters. I cant believe even a game like SFV has done something better with their characters in this department than this game.
Luckily they at least took a page from fighters in that if you are not going to have much or anything about a character outside of gameplay then you better make sure they are designed memorably and are largely fun to play as.
As for PUGS agree its better to play with friends but if none of your friends bought the game (like me) then I have found PUGS more fun than bots but you are definitely going to have a lot of rollercoaster matches. If you go in expecting to win and have everyone play optimally and as a team then yeah you may get annoyed (gotta admit though I have had some great PUGs even if they are rare compared to the bad ones) If you go in with the mindset of trying to win but mostly to just chill and have fun then PUGs are usually fine.
Incidentally what are Blizzards plans for the characters so far all I have seen is brief outside game cinematics and I have heard of some short comics which is great but certainly nothing so amazingly grand it could not be in game. As for a campaign though I do not think that would fit and I am unsure some huge fleshing out of the characters and its world would be wise now unless it were really on a huge scale. I am not sure how they would tie it to the game modes though.
