One thing these videos don't mention is that Sombra is effectively going to become a Bastion hard-counter.

Instead of nerfing everything but Ana to deal with how her abilities synergize, they should just nerf Ana's ult's DR already. Make it 25% or something. Also, the DR for bastion was completely unneeded imo. The faster switching and healing on the move was already enough of a buff.

I think maybe removing biotic grenade or making it either ONLY anti healing OR heal boosting would reign her in nicely

This is one of Blizzard's problems - they don't seem to understand moderation; they took Bastion from basically unplayable to now he will have a 100% pickrate and require 2/3 people working in tandem to 2/3v1 him in order to kill him.
...Well, then I guess it's good that these changes are going through the PTR so they can gather data on how these changes affect the game's balance.
Every single change put on the PTR, no matter how vocal the community was about it, has gone through to the main game unchanged.
It really *IS* like WoW!

I still remember a rebalance of PvE DPS for two specs for different classes in WoW one patch. Both clocked in about where they should on PTR but both had the same problem -- a huge percentage of their DPS was from one ability on a moderate cooldown hitting extremely hard. Hit the PTR, went live unchanged. One of the classes got a hotfix reducing that ability by like 40% almost immediately and never really got their PvE DPS fixed for the rest of that xpac, the other took quite a while to be addressed, and they just made that one ability not work on players (it working on creatures in general instead of being type restricted was another change from that same patch). I'm talking of course about Retribution and Destruction and the Ulduar patch.

I also remember trying to get Blizzard to believe they'd F'ed up Fel Armor in Wrath of the Lich King was like teaching a lizard how to write calligraphy. He's not particularly interested and even if he was he doesn't have the capacity to do anything about it anyways.

Honestly at this point They should treat her like they did with nova in Heroes of the Storm. Nerf her to oblivion and if she becomes useless then slowly balance her back up. That may sound cruel but they tried for 6 Months to Balance her properly and the heroes that benefit from her and that's only made things worse in some areas, Blizzard needs to slam her down now.

Of all characters to buff, why Bastion? I thought the general opinion was that mister turret REALLY needed a nerf instead.

Short version - if a team knows anything about the game, he's near useless. At the moment he's only dangerous to teams who do not know how to counter him, or flat out refuse to counter him, to the point he's a total liability.

Or maybe make it two separate grenades with the option to switch. Like Symmetra's ult. So Ana's would have to make the choice to either save it for healing, or use it offensively to stop the enemy from healing.

I was hoping they'd just do something to his recon mode, but uh. Not that.
Actually they also buffed his recon mode. He can now heal himself while moving, his machine gun arm got a higher ammo capacity, and they reduced his spread so it seems like he's now more accurate than Soldier 76.

Bastion was never OP, he's just very difficult for new players to deal with which is why early when the game came out people were complaining about him. At this point the only way for bastion to be effective is for an entire team to be centered around protecting him. More than anything he's just an annoyance/troll pick.

I'd agree with this. He's definitely a "newbie check" type. If the enemy team is smart enough to not get killed by a Bastion, then they probably need to switch.
On the other hand, I was Gold in Season 2 and I played with premades. A -decent- Bastion with their head on a swivel can keep an area pinned down pretty well.

Another idea might be to split the two grenades between two different heroes.

Give the heal-boost grenade to Mercy, and let Ana keep the anti-heal grenade. It would help lessen the ubiquitous all-encompassing kit that Ana has, and it would give Mercy some much needed utility and survivability (because Mercy doesn't even have a secondary ability at all, atm).

Bastion needed a turret mode buff if he was to be viable. I don't think 35% will be too ungodly because your still going to have to facetank everything the second you hit shift.

Well everyone, the PTR Bastion changes have now gone through to the live servers, unchanged.

It begins.

Completely unsurprising.

Thankfully Nioh and Nier Automata are going to keep me busy for a while, so I won't be touching Overwatch until they release a new character, by which point this garbage will be patched and Blizzard will be busy ruining one of the other characters.
