Ok, this goes to media in general really...

Ever had an overwhelming experience when playing a game or viewing a movie, listening to music, seeing an image? Of course you have!! So what are some of yours.

here's some of mine:
- Overwhelming experience of disgust when first playing Soldier of Fortune. I was really young. That's NOT a game for really young people.
- Overwhelming emotions (a bit of everything) when finishing most epic RPGs. Especially FFX.
- Gaz's Death. Nearly cried there.
- Aphex Twin songs give me a weird feeling of surrealism. Zoning out on his tunes while doing my work, or just sitting on the train. It's a very ...weird feeling. Hard to describe.
- Overwhelming feeling of emptiness after watching Avatar. I felt less human after that. I don't know why exactly. But it had a weird effect on me.

I can go on forever. 4chan constantly overwhelms me with laughter, disgust, knowledge, etc. I was also amazed by a humans ability to survive after hearing about a girl that survived under rubble after the Haiti earthquake for 15 days. Can you imagine being pinned under tons of concrete with no food or water... for 15 days!

Anyway... you're next!

Listening to Serj tankian on the bus whilst having a much needed after wake-up nap

I don't deal well with games that have time limits, especially if they're throwing a bunch of shit at you all at once.

I was Playing Psychonaughts, & in this one level, the difficulty curve shot up like a carosine soaked crate of fireworks. I thought I was going to have a heart attack.

& it's not just time limits in games that get to me. I also tried working in fast food once, at a deli. I almost lost my shit trying to get stuff to people in a reasonable amount fo time.

I was pretty enraged after I paid money to see Queen of the Damned. I bitched about that movie for 3 years.

"<url=http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/326.135672>Aeka: Cry from the Heart."

After being out of commission for a day, barely showing up in time to stop your girlfriend from committing suicide, learning what ultimately drove her to it, and desperately trying to talk her out of ever trying again.

All to <url=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XdzP5SF0We8>this music.

The whole game was a veritable grab-bag of emotions, but that particular scene is the one that stuck out the most. Dread, panic, and love predominating, with a short spike of fury when a certain person's name is mentioned, and nervous but relieved contentment while the scene ends and I wait for my eyes to stop stinging.

Not to mention "Aeka: Fight Against Reality," the climax of her route. Dread, panic, and deep, all-consuming, overwhelming rage were the characteristics of that scene. I'm fairly certain that I know now what pure hatred tastes like...

first time I killed a man

I don't think I've ever had an experience like that. Either that or I'm just not easily overwhelmed. Probably the closest I've come is Saving my best friends life, only to have her spit in my face, because she wanted to die...

I got Stalker SoC during a steam sale, holy shit I've never played a game that had such a creepy overall atmosphere. I mean most games just have cheap quick scares a la Doom 3, but creeping through the government labs in Stalker with the horrible background noises in total darkness is an awesome gaming experience.

Beating the airplane level on veteran on MW was an overwhelming feeling of relief... seriously... i just about broke 2 controllers. Actually i did, they still funciton just not 100% Homefield advantage though, the guy turns very slow to the left.

Overwhelming feeling of anger whenever i hear about a child molester/rapist... seriously it pisses me off when people argue against the death penalty... you touch a kid i think someone needs to inject you with some murder sauce.

Completing MGS4 after being in love with the series since I was 8. I cried like a ***** a the ending. My Dad called me from abroad afterwards and thought someone had died.

In real life, overwhelming was probably night skiing with flaming torches with my class, just this trail of fire going all the way down the mountain. Awesome.

Also dropping out of Uni, I just left without saying anything to anyone apart from my 1 awesome friend there, cried for about 2 days and now, apart from everything else being shit, I am a million% happier.

The first gig I ever played went by so quickly and afterwards boom energy sapped best felling ever.
Also I had the weird tingly feeling where you just stop and give your full attention to whatever you?re listening to or watching the first time I heard rhapsody in blue.

SO many...

Children of Men: Pretty much the entire second half of the movie. Wonderfully intense and emotionally harrowing.

MAs Effect: Becoming a spectre & the final battle

LOTR: I can't carry it, but I can carry you

MW2: Emerging from the underground bunker into the red burning hellscape of Washington

Amelie: Man recieves a little reminder of his lost childhood

'No Russian', and feeling 'Christ, did I really just do all that?',(then realising how overwhelmingly stupid the premise was. That at a simple 'grunt', I'd been placed in a CIA deep cover operation.... without ever having done anything even resembling 'spook' work.... call me heartless, but the whole op made no sense....)
