Looks snazzy. Kinda like Zenyatta, but hopefully better. I guess this also pretty much confirms the "Sombra/Ana=Pharah's mother" theory. That's gonna make for some awkward conversations. Poor McCree, not enough that he got nerfed, now he seems to be the team whipping boy :p

EDIT: While I can't confirm anything it's now official [https://playoverwatch.com/en-us/heroes/ana/], apparently her abilities go something like this:

LMB & RMB:
Regular shot, heals allies, damages enemies. RMB activates the Scope (duh.)

E: Tranq Dart
Put the target to sleep until they take damage. Seems to be more for escapes than for setting up kills compared to the Flashbang.

Shift: Biotic Grenade
Disables healing for enemies, doubles healing for allies. That ripping noise you just heard was the meta/comp scene getting torn apart.

Ultimate: Nanoboost
Large speed, damage, and defense buffs for one lucky person.

okay going to bring this up first

They predicted the future.

OT: looks pretty fun and interesting way to do a support class. I can't wait for the 6v6 Ana matches.

Eh, don't know if that's a praiseworthy prediction, I mean most of the OW fandom assumed that the next character would be Phara's mom as a support sniper.

OT, I'll suck with her, but hopefully this will get more people to try healing. Also, I wonder how much of a game changer her UberCharge will be.

I wonder how long before someone makes a post complaining about yet another female character in Overwatch that's attractive. Looks like an interesting character gameplay wise, I hope they test her better than they tested the competitive mode though. But knowing Blizzard, she'll either be OP or useless at launch.

I give it exactly 4 days.
Well it is a very attractive design. Just look at it. https://hydra-media.cursecdn.com/overwatch.gamepedia.com/7/76/Ana.png I am such a sucker for cloaks and hoods.

An aged female character?

The pandering is real! SJW takeover of Blizzard confirmed!

We already knew that. Well, maybe not the Sombra thing, but we already knew that Ana was Pharah's mother.

She shows up occasionally in the lore material. A thin swarthy woman with a rifle wearing a blue beret. One of Pharah's sprays is a blue beret labeled "Ana". At least two of the in-game conversations reference Pharah's mother being in Overwatch. So yeah.

Anyway, liking what I'm seeing, both in terms of visual design and gameplay.

Would have preferred a mid range marksman (think McCree's primary fire before nerfs) over another sniper. But that's mostly because I suck at sniping.

Also, trying to shoot friendlies to heal them sounds like a bit of a nightmare. All that zigzagging and sidestepping people do to avoid enemy fire will also avoid the healing bullets of love.

Like the idea of an anti-heal ability. Should shake up the meta nicely.

Well I can't speak for others, but this is an improvement of the usual design of female characters in Overwatch and a first old lady that looks old and sounds old in the same way old male characters do. On top of that, she has sensible non-revealing and non-form fitting attire (will probably have a Young Ana skin or some other skin that will be different, but I can live with that). Don't expect much outrage, because this hits all the spots for many people and their wishes regarding female characters.

... I've been wrong before, though. In my book, however, excellent design. Looking forward to trying her out.

Easily offended people are already complaining about how she doesn't look old enough. The e-outrage will get bigger when they notice the "Young Ana" skins. Though at this point we'll all be laughing at them.

Another Sniper will make the matchmaking unbearable.

I also would point out that she doesn't look nearly as old in the game trailer as she does in that concept art. But another support character might motivate people to heal more, especially since she doesn't really seem to need to follow anyone. But she may have some pretty hard mobility problems....i guess like old people do. :p

You do realize that this all but confirms that she ISN'T Sombra now, right?

She's missing the cybernetic limbs that Sombra has, and her hero page on the Overwatch website calls her "Ana," not "Sombra," so unless Blizzard is going to change the page name, it isn't going to happen. Also, if Ana is returning to help Overwatch, why would Reaper miss her presence (his line "where's Sombra when you need her?"

We can't let a discussion go by without bringing up SJWs can we? *Sigh*

Anyway, I like it. I like the desert sniper look. And we managed to have an older woman in Overwatch without the world ending! Imagine that!

Nope it's her. It doesn't help that the official Overwatch twitter shared a piece of art of her called "Mother knows best" with the title in the tweet. Also I don't see any cybernetic limbs on Sombra.

What does the twitter have to do with it? The tweet confirms that Ana Amari is Pharah's mother, something that we've known well before the game was even released.

https://hydra-media.cursecdn.com/overwatch.gamepedia.com/1/13/Sombra_Article.png is an image of Sombra. https://hydra-media.cursecdn.com/overwatch.gamepedia.com/7/76/Ana.png is an image of Ana. Notice how the leg structure is completely different.

If Ana and Sombra are indeed the same individual, then it's a shared identity that has to account for why an Egyptian would use a Spanish/Portugese word as a codename, and why Ana is helping Overwatch & Reaper, when that should be impossible considering that Overwatch and Talon are in opposition to each other. I did believe that Sombra and Ana were the same character for awhile, but now we know what side Ana's on, coupled with the differences in appearance, it doesn't make any sense for them to be the same individual.

Ana is not Sombra.

I would assume Blizz probably saw the need for another support character following release and decided to speed up Ana's development over Sombra's, who was the character they'd likely previously been planning as the first release judging by the teasing and who is theorized to be some sort of stealth based assassin.

Whatever the case it's a cool character, I look forward to giving her a try.
