Could you have at least chosen two films that had giant robots in it? Seriously, comparing a scrotum-bearded goblin to humongous mecha swatting royalty-free Godzilla with a baseball bat? You might as well say all modern games are just 3D imagery rendered in real-time or modernized throwbacks to the 8-bit era, so there's no point in playing anything anymore.Casual Shinji said:Well, it's a lot of big overly rendered CGI stuff all over the screen - It's not something for me to get really excited about anymore. I saw the same thing in The Avengers and The Hobbit.
Really, what else is new?
Myself, I'm cautiously optimistic. I love me a good kaiju movie, and while rubber suits lend a certain charm to the genre, I'd love to see a CGI execution that doesn't suck (I'm looking at you, Cloverfield and not-Godzilla movie by Roland Emmerich). Guillermo del Toro has shown that he can make a good effects-laden movie, both of the CGI and heavy makeup variety.
