PAL format question

I have a vague understanding of PAL vs. NTSC, so I had a question that maybe someone from the PAL regions could answer (or just a techie in general). I live in the US, and want to buy a DVD from Amazon UK (because it's cheaper than buying it on Amazon US, even with the currency conversion and shipping). The DVD is listed as All Regions, so I'm assuming that isn't an issue, but I was wondering if the PAL format would be incompatible with the DVD player on my computer (or the one I have at home). Any thoughts?

This really depends. I have a few all region NTSC DVDs that my PS2 plays in black and white, while my 360 plays them in color. I absolutely have no idea why it does that.

I'd say it should be fine on most DVD players and TVs though.

As has been said before, "All Regions" DVD's will play anywhere.
I highly recommend investing in a multi-region DVD player in the future though - it saves a lot of hassle, and you don't have to worry about regions when you buy DVD's online.

It's just the refresh rate, most tv's nowadays do PAL, HD and NTSC so you shouldn't need to worry
this. If you have a new TV it should work

If you have a digital tv and the dvd is all regions it wont matter at all. The only time it matters is if you have an analogue tv and a region 2 dvd.

(Also, amazon UK is cheaper than US? holy crap thats a first)
