I'm confused by this. It really does just seem like a variation on a netbook. Given how tiny laptops can be these days, while still remaining quite powerful, I'm not sure I understand the appeal of this - unless it's dirt cheap. (Like $200 cheap.) I just don't understand the niche it's attempting to fill.

Emulators, homebrew, that kind of stuff. But mostly emus. Think Pandora but prettier.

And a netbook can't do that?

A netbook has too many buttons. But now that I think of it, it could explain why the Pandora is completely unheard of.

Nifty, is all i can say, more compitition is nothing but good news for gamers.

Except when the handheld bombs and it's seen as an omen of things to come in the gaming industry.

And if you listen closely, you will hear the familiar sound of no one giving a fuck about a new handheld. Well that and the battle music of Pokemon SoulSilver.

OT: More competition will make Ninendo step it up a notch.

Oh, sweet, I needed something to hold my N-Gage up.

*grins* that's harsh. XD (I just hope they do better than with the 3do, a little competition never hurts).

Competition is a good thing. But, to be a good thing, it accually has to BE competitive. It's going to have to be an epicly good handheld to brake into the market. Nintendo has a STRANGLE hold on headhealds, and the PSPNG.. or whatever it is, will be coming out soon with bigger brand name appeal.

Now, if this thing lets people play there crack on the go..(WoW) That could be a game changer, but, that seems like a pretty tall order for a hand held..... I wouldn't hold my breath.

Not that it matter to ME personally, I don't play handhelds. I've never liked them. I own a DS for Pokemon, ONLY, and force myself to play it, and a used PsP, for Lunar, and play it on my bigscreen TV... that's it. So, this thing, a non issue for me. But, it'll be intresting to see if it does anything at all, or goes the way of the 3DO.
