Not funny buddy.

But no, we should keep them around. Pandas did perfectly fine for millions of years before humans came along and invented the chainsaw and dickishness, so I think it's about time we stopped skullfucking Mother Nature and evolution and trying to keep things from getting worse.

Pandas. We know what they are, and we know there's not many of them left.
But did you know that the God of Evolution basically wants them gone? It's true!

Pandas. Firstly, take their looks; black and white, supposedly to camouflage in with snowy mountains with deep shadows.
So they live in bamboo forests.

Their diet is 99% bamboo. Pandas can't digest bamboo properly. They're clearly idiots. Wikipedia tells me they've been living in bamboo forests for millions of years, and haven't evolved the guts to properly digest the food they life off've.
Idiots.
Pandas eat fish. They are carnivorous.

Remember, the panda-bear is a chimera-esque animal that is half panda and half bear. Unlike the koala-bear, who's name merely contains the word "bear", the panda has a variety of diets.

Yeah. Pandas are so... stupid.

They should eat meat. But I think they don't have taste buds that enjoy meat or something. Bamboo tastes better for them. Its like a human eating bark that was sprinkled in powdered sugar. Tastes better but it doesn't do anything for you.

Plus they sometimes don't even wanna mate with another Panda. What's wrong here...

They would have died off without our help long ago.

Even if there wasn't any human interaction, a large group of them would have eaten all of the bamboo in their area and therefore died.

Yeesh. Best part is that they have nothing to offer us other than 'something pretty to look at'. Cows for meat and milk. Ox and Horses for beasts of burden. Pandas to be a pain in the ass.
Pandas do eat meat. Like I elaborated in my previous post.

Yeah good points there. Some animals it seems are meant to die out. That's how evolution works of course. Why not stop trying to save an animal that doesn't seem meant to be saved and save others that if they die out it means big trouble.

In the words of Noel Vermillion:

Hands off the panda!

Because I could not find a decent clip of the character saying it, here is her voice actress:

In all honesty, I could go for some Panada Barbeque. Wonder what it'd taste like.

But I'd say, let them go their way. Then if they still die out, it was never ment for them to live any longer. Heh.

But with regards to evolution, humanity has always been more, "Let's see how we can use this," rather than, "Let's just let it take its course." Case and point: doggies. We took wolves, made a completely new species out of them, and varied that species so much so that its largest subspecies is hundreds of times larger than its smallest. It would be like if there was another subspecies of human that was the size of a two-story house.
*goes to wikipedia* Well, technically speaking, dogs are still canis lupus, so no: They aren't a different species. It's more like breeding japanese with freckles. ;)

And one of my professors was like that all the time: "Pandas are a evolutionary failure! We should just let them die." There are weird animals out there with weird mating practices that didn't take human intervention into account. I think Douglas Adams mentions a bird in this awesome talk that has similar problems:

But without panda's, what animal will we teach kung fu to?
what about cat,s or dog,s
OT
I agree the Dodo went extinct and the world seems fine so why not the panda?
also I read somewhere they had a male and female panda and they just don,t want to mate.
If the animals them selfs don,t bother conserving the species why should we?

That's not eucalyptus. That's bamboo.

So... yeah, you're wrong.

Edit: Further reading: In which it's explained that bamboo is a type of grass and eucalyptus is a type of tree

Sorry for being a dick but you were smug and wrong.

Pandas are adorable, and the Chinese government wants them around, so why not keep them alive?
Because the Chinese probably plan to harvest their liver and throw away the rest, like they do with almost every other animal in their country; cut off one bit, make it into fine cuisine, and throw the rest in the bin.

OT; No. Sorry, but if they won't hump themselves off the endangered species list, they ain't worth saving. Put them back in the wild and leave them to be damned or saved by nature.
Mmm, panda intestine soup

Seriously though, it's probably just a national pride thing. Why all the China hate?

Who are we to tell them what they ought to save? It's one of the more decent ways to spend money, especially since deforestation is probably a big reason for them becoming an endangered species.

Kill em all, I don't like how much we spend on a species that clearly doesn't want to exist, lets find something that wants to live and work on saving them instead. Stupid Pandas...

I agree with op.

See #1 on the list.
This list is obviously meant to be silly, but it's going a bit too far in its ridiculousness. The Corpse flower attracts flesh-eating beetles? Shouldn't I be happy they're not attracted to my flesh instead? And vultures eat corpses that are already dead, meaning they don't endanger people, yet clean off so there aren't rotting corpses everywhere. I'd like to keep them both, thank you.
