Dude, haven't you heard? It's Don Jr. who may now be the Trump frontrunner for going into politics.
He might be a wastrel gobshite that's never accomplished anything except picking the crumbs from daddy's table, but that's all the qualification a person needs to be put forward for a political sinecure in a safe seat.
I would honestly be surprised if its Don. Jr, because Ivanka is all pissy a woman beat her to the White House and wants to be the first woman President, and she'll give a speech that democratic women settle for being vice-president, but daddy told me Republicans only settle for being President. And then the entire Republican talking point is anyone who doesn't vote for Ivanka is sexist and hates women.
She will fail to get the Republican support to be president for one reason if nothing else: she has no real ability to connect to the Republican base. Trump is an ass, but his crude bully routine is something voters can grasp - he is in some core way authentic, even if that authenticity is as a pompous, blustery, bullshitter. Trump has also really gone out there and faced the world head on, forged his own path (even if with far less success than he's made out).
But Ivanka? She is nothing but manufactured image, a superficially smart but vapid socialite, a naive and cossetted snob, who has coasted along by holding onto her father's coat-tails. She'd be eaten alive.
See I disagree because daddy is the king maker now. He's still gonna be the presumptive runner in 2024, and anyone who gets his endorsement is all but guaranteed to be the candidate. And Ivanka is very very good at convincing daddy to give her what she wants.
And as far as connecting to the GOP base, Trump Jr and Eric can't either, and Ivanka has the added bonus of being a woman, and attractive in a peroxide blonde bimbo sorta way.
Trump Jr is basically a puppet for his dad, without the charm, and Eric is...well Eric. But Ivanka pretends to be able to string two sentences together, and in today GOP that puts her in the top 1% of cognitive skill.
Getting in on a technicality would be a nice gestalt for his entire existence, granted.
